How many people have Optimas?
#2
After blowing up a couple of batteries,
I opted for a Optima,I ran my Yellow top in my old Explorer which had a 2000 watt stereo and had no problems{works great},Then I transplanted it in my Max which had a 1000 watt stereo and still no problems. All in all it has about 50K on it and has never died or any thing.I strongly recommend it to any one looking for a durable, reliable battery.

I have this

feeding this

and I have had no problems with extended play with the car off. The maxima has an excellent electrical system thats further reinforced with the Optima battery. Definately worth it.

Okay, quick question. I also have an Optima yellow, but my lights still dim if I'm really bumpin'. I have had no problems with starting or anything, but I certainly don't like it doing that. I'm really not pushin' that many watts, ~700. So what should I do, short of putting in a second battery? Caps, I'm assumming. Also, why does it seem hard as hell to ground properly - I'm referring to that annoying ground hum that allows you to hear the engine? I've checked it a couple of times and seems good only to start up again after driving for a while. Oh well. Thanx

Since every one is showing off their battery, I have to do the same =)

This is with the stock J hooks and a wood platform on the bottom to raise the battery up. I got some chrome J hooks now that have more threads on them. Now, it doesn't need a platform.

check the ground for your head unit and amp... thats usually the cause of road noise... using a 4-gauge power wire and 4-gauge ground... but make sure evrything is rounded good... get some self-drilling screws and drill a new ground in the trunk under the mat for a good ground
