Your reaction times are very close to perfect, great job those are very impressive. Good all around runs, what kind of street tires were you running?

insane congrats on the times. i just got back from the track but I didn't run. I went down with a chic in a civic hatch that ran the best of 13.4 @ 104 all motor. Again congrats and i'll have to wait till winter to have temps cool enough to compete with those times.

Funny you should mention that, my exhaust literally BROKE today on the way to the redwings/blackhawks game. I'm ordering aftermarket tomorrow, my car is loud as hell right now basically it's got no muffler haha.

Hey Neal, you should try a little 100 octane mixed in with you 92-93 octane and see if it helps at all. When I ran, I had about 4 gallons of 92 and 2 gallons of 100 (~95 octane).

(sarcastic comment) Neal i thought I was going to beat you going down the strip.....but when you took off, my face just went . Good job man on your 13.6 run. Now your goal is to get low 13s or high 12s right? hehe

I wish my track was empty on opening day. There must have been 150 trailor cars and 300 street cars. I'm going back next Sunday and hopefully I'll get a bunch of runs in and I'll be able to let my motor cool down this time. I still don't think I'll come remotely close to the 13.9-14.0s you're running on street tires though. Your 1/8 mile trap speeds on street tires are in the 79mph range. Mine are in the 77mph range

BTW, I put the hurt on a 86-87 L98 Vette last night

Dave

I hate those vettes. Infact I dont like the c4's at all. Anyway im impressed alright for a NA 6 cyl car. The fastest I ever got was 14.6x.

For kicks and giggles I got the C5 to the drags finally last friday. Only got 3 runs in cause it started to rain. The track was slick as ***** from the high humidity and the partial misting and the 45 degree temps and no prepping. I pulled a 13.6, 13.4 and a 13.5 all at 107 mph. The 13.4 my 60 foot was a 2.3 which is no better then what I did with the max. If I can do a 2.0 60 foot, i should be hitting flat 13s or maybe even high 12s.

But the maxima did teach me alot about drag racing a stick shift car with independent drive axle suspension. Also stuff like analyzing the dyno plot to calculate the optimal shift points which I havent done yet.

So I take it you fixed your C5. If you're getting 13.4-13.5@107mph with 2.3 60 foots, you should be able to get easy 12s with a 1.9-2.0 60'. 1.9-2.0 60 foots are very common for the C4/C5. For shift points, I'd say pretty much redline in 1, 2, and 3. According to the dynos plots I've seen for the LS1s, they make power right to around 6000rpms and then it starts to slowed fall off. Isn't 6400-6500rpm the fuel-cut redline?

I never really paid attention to my launches on street tires much, I just did what felt right, but since people always ask me how I launched I paid attention this time. I noticed I let the clutch out quickly and then modulate the throttle thru 1st gear to limit wheelspin, I was at 1/2-3/4 throttle thru most of 1st gear only getting all the way on it from probably 5000rpm-redline.

Yea I got the C5 rolling. THe body damage is still there but I'm gonna have to wait to fix that.

Anyway the first time I hit that 1-2 shift and the rear end got a little squirrly and I got scared and let off. It was a phenomenon I was not used to with a front drive car but I got used to it.

I think you're right on the redline, I only found the rev limiter once.
