Okay, so where do I go to get an alignment? Dealer? Tire shop? Local mechanic?

I went to a reputable tire/wheel shop...

Even then, when they did the alignment, they gouged my left side wheels. Of course being reputable, they paid to have them fixed

Good alignment shops are hard to find ->

If you know any car fanatics like all of us in your area, ask for a recommendation. Don't go for the cheapest shop, either...be willing to pay 60 or 70 for a good alignment.

My best alignments have been from old timers that have been doing alignments for years and years, and are used doing them with crude instruments. The newer instruments/racks make their job easier, but they still have that really good feel that's needed. Just something to keep in mind.

One good thing I've found is that the alignment on the Maxima doesn't get all that bad after lowering...you get more camber and the toe changes, but just a little bit, so you don't HAVE to get an alignment done today or tomorrow.

If you can't find a good recommended shop, go somewhere that offers lifetime alingment warranty (free re-alignments). I couldn't find a good shop here, so I found one that offered that...but they suck at alignments and take like 3-4 hours to do it and it still isn't quite right...

alignment

I went to Sears once to do my alignment, and they left something loose, lets say the alignment was screwed in a matter of minutes by driving on the freeway. I went back and complained and they reluctantly took a look and said that it wasn't in alignment and redid it again. Those guys SUCK.
