ODOMETER FIX!! help!!

ODOMETER FIX!! help!!

Does anyone know how to roll the odometer ahead from 78,000 to 117,200? I just ordered a new gauge cluster and dont want to break this one like the last(stupid coil on the needle). any help would be much appreciated. Thank a lot. LONG LIVE THE MAXIMA!!

You could try to replicate the speed input at 140mph for 12 days (power drill for a mechanical speedo, simulated VSS fro an electronic).

You'd still legally be required to notify DMV and get an odo discrepancy title.

Don't try to take the cluster apart - that will just result in you busting the new one too. I recommend you phtograph the two clusters side-by side showing the numbers, then put a sticker in your door jamp saying; "Ododmeter replaced Old reading xxxxxx, new odo started at yyyyyy. Subtract zzzzzz from current odo fro true mileage" AND get the odo discrepancy title. That's most important if you are gonna sell the vehicle.

for as weird as it sounds, I do need to roll the odo ahead. Does anyone know what it would cost to get the odo discrepency title thing?
