What do you really use the wrap for? I am getting a Y-pipe, should I use the header wrap on it, will it quiet it down or what, any info appreciated.

Header wrap {AKA Y-Pipe wrap} does 3 things,

2 good one bad.

The most commin use is to heat up the exaust gases which=a faster more efficient exaust flow which in turn creates more HP{very little on your application though}.the 2nd perpase is to quiet the beez in the can sound, which some seem to have and others don't.If you are getting the Cattman SS pipe this noise is not a problem {none existent} and don't bother wrapping it.The 3rd thing {my favorite} is it rots out the pipe much quicker because water get's traped under the wrap, and you get rust.

well, I am not getting the Cattman SS one, I am getting the Warp Speed one. How much is the wrap, honestly, is it worth it?

I paid lile 28 bucks for a role of wrap,

I don't no if the warp speed pipe will make the beez in the can sound, but I don't think it will since the 2 guys testing it have not reported it to be a problem.I personaly have a Stillen pipe and cat back system and it makes quite a racket so I chose to wrap my Y-Pipe and the weed wacker sound became much better almost unnotecable infact,I was so pleased with the result I wraped my whole B-Pipe with wrap to,which made even quiter{but still quite loud}.As it being worth it or not, thats your call.

I wrapped my Y pipe (cattman SS) just because I had enough left over from a Camry header before. I do not think rust will be an issue with stainless steel as stainless steel does not rust. Also, the instant the car reaches normal operating temperture, any dampness would be immediately evaporated.

Shiiiit, now you got me thinking again. I am so undecided about an exhaust that I never got one, and I think that is the most important mods on the car. I don't want my car to be loud (the CAI is already so), I am thinking of going into a 2K exhaust, do you think by wraping the Y-pipe it will be quiet? Also, if I install the Y-pipe and RT cat, should I get the B-pipe too for the 2K exhaust?

A Y-Pipe in conjuction with a stock mufler/2K muffler will be almost as quiet as stock.Wraping the Y-pipe will only quiet down the beez sound, but if the warp speed pipe does not have this sound wrapping it will be of no use unles of course you are trying to squeze out a extra 3rd of a HP.Check out the group deal on the Apexi exaust with the silencer{it will make things real quiet},it's ending tomarrow.

Yeah, I know, I talked to wicked. I don't know, I still think Apexi and Y-pipe will be pretty loud.
