"Blower claims fingers!"

A friend of mine has a SC 4th gen in the shop right now. the car has been vandalized hardcore but thats besides the point of the story.
someone decided they wanted to try to see how much suction was produced by the turbine so he stuck his hand close to it and opened throttle.
long story short- 3 finger tips missing

no pics, sorry.

was it one of the "bad guys" that got his fingers chopped off, or was it one of the people at the shop?

Eww. They're probably at the screen of the MAF sensor.

I nearly lost my fingers recently working on a saturn. Turnd of the windshield wipers and reaching into the linkage by the motor under the hood. Turns out I set it to intermittent...

The linkage grabbed myfingers and forced them against the sharp edge of a piece of sheet metal and cut two down to the bone. Not enough force to break the bones, though... *phew*

I bet someone actually sued Stillen for this, that's why they relocate the MAF to the intake pipe, so if one attempts to try this trick, the car will shut off itself once he loose the intake pipe.

People, you should never put your fingers in the S/C inlet. Human flesh is not a good oxidizer or a good fuel. It will act as an inhibitor and actually cause your engine to lose HP.
