Trans. temp. gauge info needed
Trans. temp. gauge info needed
i am looking to install a transmission temp. gauge for my auto, and looking for info on how hard it is, what's involved, there to tap (will use electric type gauge), where to place the gauge (besides A-pillar). so if you have one installed, i'd appreciate the info.
I recently had mine installed by Jeff at Maximum Tuning b/c I was a little apprehensive about doing it myself.
He tapped my tranny pan by drilling a hole and screwing in the sensor that came with the gauge. He put it on the side of the pan so the sensor is not sticking down and can't scrape.

I have my gauge in the glove box..
You can tap the pan or get a manifold which you tap the tranny fluid line with.
Autometer sells both.
Install is pretty straightforward.

depends on where you want to tap...if you want to tap into the tranny pan....then you dont have to ground the sender. if yout tap the sender into the ATF line with a tee....then you will need to ground it. Tapping the line is easier IMO.
I put my gauges above the AC vent.
