How to program HomeLink with rolling code?

Hey guys,

We just had new garage door openers installed, and I'm having trouble programming the HomeLink with the rolling code. I followed the procedure on HomeLink's website and it didn't work.

The HomeLink programmed successfully on my mom's HomeLink (2000 Villager), but didn't work for me. I know there is a way because I've seen it discussed here in the past. I don't have the ability to search though (not yet anyway).

Does anyone know how to program the HomeLink if the garage door opener has a rolling code?

Thanks,
-Nick

Have you ever been able to program a rolling code with your homelink? Earlier homelink systems didn't support rolling codes, you'll have to call Homelink and ask them if yours does (they know by the make/model/year.) My mom's 96 Lincoln didn't support it but my 02 Maxima did with no problems.

My last garage door openers didn't use rolling codes. I'm assuming that my HomeLink doesn't accept rolling codes because I programmed the codes into my mom's 2000 Villager successfully. Well, this just sucks.

You might ask Homelink if the 98 or 99 Maximas supported the rolling codes... It's all contained in the visor so if you could find one in a junkyard or something with the same interior color you could swap it. Good luck

this is what you do, first use your remote and program the remote into one of the homelink buttons

then park you rcar close to the main garage opener unit. the thing that hangs on the ceiling. this part you need two people, press the red button that is in the main unit and the homelink button just programmed, your garage light should flash a couple times and now its set...
