Was just offerred a sponsorship....is this legit?

Here's the situation:
At the beginning of May I read an ad in Modified Magazine for the chance to win a Skyline GTR and a sponsorship. About 10 minutes ago I got a phone call from the company who was offerring the sponsorship. He said that I was chosen for a probationary 12 month sponsorship, which means they would reimburse me for 50% of my parts purchased up to $10,000. This of course provided that I attend at least 4 events/shows. At the end of 12 months, they would evaluate my performance, and decide if was qualified for a full-sponsorship.

Now I don't have the magazine (I threw it out when I moved last week) and I don't remember the name of the company. Does anyone know the name of the company, or whether or not this sounds legit?

Thanks.

Need more info.. Who's the sponsor?

Have any pics of your car so we can do a current evaluation of your whip?

Yeah...that's the thing. I was in the car when I got the call and didn't write down the company's name. The ad was in the May issue of Modified Magazine. Full page ad. I don't have any current pics of my car, and neither do they.

most sponsorships basically give you huge discounts on parts available through the parent store. sounds pretty legit, find out who the sponsor is

I know! I've been hanging out here for a few years. Incredible is a pretty acurate adjective

I just wish I had more money right now. Spend 5k and get 2500 reimbursed? Nice. I just need to figure out if I can buy parts from anyone, or just them. Also, which shows I need to go to. I'm wondering if I get to choose, or they choose for me.

I am refering to your post. What type of a man gets a buisness proposal and doesn't get any type of call back number nor did you discuss the proposal in detail. How old are U?

I have a callback number. I just forgot the name of the company. I wanted to see if anyone else had gotten the offer. My first reaction was that they call everyone who applied and offerred them some bogus sponsorship and collected their 80 dollar setup fee. Jeez.

No I am fine. I just don't understand why he did not go into to detail with the person that called.
