167hp with mods...??
I finally got my car dynoed and as you can see, very poor results.

Best pull I got was 167.3hp 176.2 torque
My cat was smelling a bit, so could that be why I'm lossing alot of hp? Could it be clogged? Don't know what else it can be, please help me diagnose this.. And I did get the misfire cyclinder code about a month ago...
Thanks...

Comparing different cars on different dynos isn't very reliable, but I got 164hp and 184 ft lbs of torque on my last dyno with just an intake and exhaust. I've seen ~180hp or so with your mods, so that's about where you should be shooting for. Regardless, start trying to resolve any codes and such especially a cylinder misfire code. BTW do you have an A/F graph?

i have no codes for a KS... but should i try putting a resistor in its place and see if i get a change... and what ohm resistor would it be? i know a bad KS can retard timing... but would it be corrected in higher rpms? my low end has always been kinda bad, but i've always mad up for it in top end. is there anything to this?

hmm... let me correct myself. i do have a KS code... 0304... will this show up w/o a check engine light? from what i remember it can, since this is the only code i have. i guess tomorrow i'll be going to nissan and forking over $130... !@#$ %$# #$%^.

Re: 167hp with mods...??
I don't know how much difference it makes but your dyno graph is in the STD Mode and not the SAE Corrected mode. BTW, my last dyno was ~170hp/193tq '96 auto.

hey... just curious... but what are the chances that my KS is not bad... but it just picked up a spark knock...or just some other random noise. also, i just read that an article that on a spec V they were having KS problems... so they used a 500,000ohm resistor in place of the KS. they also said on another test, they removed the KS, but didn't unplug it... and they just wrapped it to deaden the sound and tied it down somewhere. should i try this, or just plan on buying a new KS?

Test the KS with an ohmmeter. Instructions are on here somewhere and other sites. May even be in the Haynes manual. I forget the exact specs, but it is not hard to check at all. Mine had the 0304 code by itself, I tested the KS and it was bad. I had been noticing the car didn't feel as "peppy" and was using more gas. Changed the KS and it perked back up and gas mileage went back to normal. Definitely worth checking.
