Finally got some performance stats for my '95 SE/SMX.

HORSEPOWERDyno Max chassis dynamometer) At wheels- 181 hp, at engine- 212 (determined by coastdown figure)I'm disappointed but JWT ECU is coming soon- 15 more hp.!
ACCELERATION 0-60 mph.: (G-Tech accelerometer) 6.6 sec
TOP SPEED: (OEM speedometer)Indicated- 5 mph. increment beyond 140 max. speed numerals. Probable- 140 mph. (done on empty section of interstate after one cruise-by check for troopers and using my Valentine One Radar Locator and some prayers and incense burning. NOT to be repeated EVER again!
QUARTER MILE: Not interested. My car is a sport sedan, not a dragster. Three 0-60 pulls was enough "damage".

SPEED-INDUCING MODS:
1. Stillen/K&N filter intake w/ factory and fabricated air intakes (awaiting custom air box to hook into)
2. AEM bored throttle body (to 4.75")(NO performance gain)
3. Cattman Y-pipe }
4. Random Tech. main cat } THESE 3 MAKE IT LOUDER
5. Greddy cat-back exhaust } (but cool)(MUCH sound-
6. BOSCH+4 Platinum plugs deadening inside helps)

Running a 1/4 isn't gonna hurt much. It's just one more shift into 3rd. Just watch for your 60mph flashing time, shift into 3rd and brake after hitting the 1/4. It took me 10+ runs to get the start just right. Don't know why Doug's bashing the g-tech - others have said it's pretty much right on except for trap speed.

My g-tech showed 6.4 for 0-60 and 14.9-15.0 for the 1/4 for comparison. (before y-pipe & b-pipe)

My '95 SE/SMX upgrades

Bejay1,I guess my 0-60 times could have been faster if I knew how to get a good 2nd gear start OR an experienced driver did it. Among my power mods I forgot to list a U-R underdrive pulley. With all my present power mods I should have a very quick car.
From 50-80 the acceleration is REALLY impressive. On I-90 in Illinois this summer I easily dusted an impertinant stock 2000 Max that was suddenly riding my bumper. How I LOVED that! When I finally slowed to let him pass he really looked my Max over.

Your local! I'm near Elgin.

I-90 makes for good 1/4mi testing West of Randall. Run 1st gear til 6300-6500rpm then shift. Run 2nd gear to 6100-6300rpm then shift. 3rd takes you to 90mph+ for the 1/4 time.

Sorry you missed our Dec meet in Addison. We should have another this summer (check UpperMidwest sec here)

Hey RICOiz704, check out the UpperMidwest section here if you haven't already. There's lots of Chicagoland drivers hooking up.
