Cracked Rear Exhaust Manifold

Has anyone ever heard of or seen a rear exhaust manifold cracked on one of our cars? I wonder if this has anything to do with the turbo... Anyways, its no big deal because I found one on car-part.com for $45 shipped with a 6 month warranty. Oh and also, getting it installed for $160 (that's if they have to pull the engine its $160)... Quite the hookup indeed. I can't wait till this is done with, cuz I'm taking her to the track and I'll be sure to record it for all of you to see. Should be in the 12's at 9psi.

I don't know what a flex section is, and as far as the manifold cracking, it's getting worse... the guy at the shop that is hooking me up says this isnt the first maxima he's had to work on with this problem... so I found that interesting... He has no reason to lie to me, he's a good friend of a friend of mine, he owns a repair shop close to me, he's going to put a replacement rear exhaust manifold that I bought from a junkyard in there for cheap... and if he has to pull the engine to do it, he's gonna charge me only $160 just to cover what he has to pay his techs... that is a serious hook up. And yeah I am surprised that cast iron cracked myself, but God only knows what happened...

Has Mardigras ever head a manifold crack on his ride? This is the first time I've heard of this.

he shouldn't have to pull the motor to replace a manifold. and like was said maybe there is a flaw in the way the turbo is supported...it could be weighing down and stressing the manifold, its kinda hard to believe but could be possible

Bryan: when you go to the track, let me know. I want to be there to witness your run.
