in all honesty, it depends on what road you take. There are MANY roads... print (business cards, flyers, letterheads, brochures).. print advertising (posters, banners, theme movie posters)... video advertising (commercials, promos)... film and film editing.. film art departments... web programmer.. web designer... flash developer.. actionscript programmer.. lingo developer.. it goes on and on.

That's why the fine pioneers, bigwigs, and PhD folk in the field chose to label it Multimedia.. or New Media (this argument can go on forever in theory classrooms).

I personally want to get my degree, teach a graphics class at a high school for like 2-3 years (work on portfolio and other artwork/research in the summer vacation months).. then hit grad school when i'm 25, get out and maybe pick up an Assistant Professor job at a University and still be able to work for grants on my off-time.

I'm taking the Art route instead of the Commercial artist route. My route requires a lot of school, but I have connections in the Art world so it's easier. I won't make much (no more than $40-$50k/year all added up with job and projects), but it's the legacy and stature in the art world that I'm striving for.

If I give up and take the commercial artist route, then i'll just freelance or do entry-level stuff for 2 years.. build the portfolio, and then work at an advertising agency which pay anywhere between $15-25/hr entry-level/freelance, $25-45 mid-range/intermediate, $45-75 Creative director or equivalent... all is depending on your experience/portfolio/resume.

An awesome portfolio and resume can dwarf anyone else's many degrees in this field... ultimately, it's about who you know and who knows you.

Needless to say, it is very UNboring and you meet the coolest people (and the wildest girls )

OOOhhh... I've been wanting a nice looking sig pic ever since I came on this beeatch! I just don't have nowhere NEAR enough source pics on my website. Maybe if I get a free minute, I'll drop some of the 1.4GB of pics I've got stored on disks to my site...

Max002 and MaximaRider's sigs are good the rest are just a bunch of PS effects, with no real theme or style/

they should let us use flash. I mean some flash movies are smaller than some jpgs and gifs people are using.

Well, if Kevin has made it clear that sig pics don't drain the server (since they're sourced from other places) then size isn't a problem.

I think it's more to do with compatibility perhaps ???

thanks for the credit.. jerk off...

people get pretty damn photoshop crazy, with cropping and filters. ive been in the graphic design field for about 6 years now, had 2 prosperous jobs as a design and I do a lot of freelance work with a good friend. the key is be unique but to keep it clean and simple.

my sig changes quite often, because i mess around with my digital camera a lot.

If you really want the practice you can make me something...I suck at photoshop. I've been too lazy to even make my sig smaller. You may not have as much fun since I'm so stock looking right now, but have at all the pics on my homepage if you like.

they're just f@ggot haters man, homo sexuals with licenses to hate. He's not asking for opinions on whether u like them although he wouldnt mind positive criticism, but this thread was made to show everyone that there's a guy out there willing to make sigs for those people in need. Just like an item for sale, if u r not buying, keep your mouth shut
