y-pipe loudness

does the y-pipe get quieter as it breaks in?

I think your trippin Ive heard of mufflers getting louder in time but the y-pipe

no it doesnt break in. just wait till your entire exhaust sounds rough then another noise won't be a concern.

Your exhaust isn't going to get any quieter unless you take it off.

The y-pipe isn't suppose to be much louder than stock at all. Only very slightly more undercar noise, and a little more muffler noise at the rear. My intake is easily 10x louder. You sure you don't have an exhaust leak?

the intake is definately loud i dont disagree...... the y pipe ownz i was pulling so damn hard on a mustang gt today, and as i passed him i looked over and he was all

Mine is damn quiet, Cattman makes a super good product though. I've heard that opening it up after the Y is what adds to your loudness hence me not doing that

I think he means it like getting a cat-back and opening up the exaust flow. I recently had a local shop bend me a 2.5" catback with a 2k2 muffler on the end, and I'm very happy with it. I'ts got a little more rumble than just a y-pipe, but still not really noticible until you romp on it.

oh yah the power difference is sick, i guess its not that loud really, just all in my head, i was grinning from ear to ear while i was driving today, and taking that mustang for a walk was great
