My max came with the old green coolant. Is it safe to use the orange dexcool coolant that is good for 5yr/150,000 miles?

I would do a flush and have everything Dexcool.

I put dexcool in my car this summer, after a complete flush.. by winter, my radiator was over a gallon low on coolant..

I'd been running regular green stuff before, and never had a problem.

After I found my coolant low on the dexcool, I flushed again and filled with regular green gunk.. the level in the tank hasn't budged in a month.

I dunno what's with the dexcool, but I'm never touching it again unless the car requires it.

Did you remember to bleed the air out of the system with the air bleed valve on top of the good ol' VG?

I've been running Dex-cool for....geez.....a while. I guess it's been at least 30k....not a drop missing, unless you count the time I didn't tighten up the drain on the radiator all the way and had a REAL slow leak. Come to think of it, that could have been your problem as well....VGs don't leak oil or coolant unless something is massively wrong....
