Sold my Max Today :( / :)

I sold my 3rd gen today. I know I'll miss her every now and then, but I sold it to a friend so I'll get to see her.

It was a '90 GXE w/ 80k miles. I sold it for $2,900

Known problems
-valve cover gasket oil leak
-bent control arm
-master cylinder tiny leak

Was that fair?

Yea, I'm bijan gxe....

Planning on getting a 97+ SE 5spd. Or...if the price is right, maybe a 5th gen.

As for everything - Chris, Matt, Jeff, Sola, DanNY, Diego, Jason Z, Donald, awsm66, klown, mrGone, and any other 3rd gener that helped me in any situation, I really appreciate it.

As for everything I previoulsy posted that some of you might know about, I'm sorry for all that.

I want to be appreciated here, just as more than 3/4 of all members are. So, Here I come 4th gen!

You dont need a 4th gen to become appreciated, thats why I bought my 3rd gen joking.

Hey man, no problem. Glad to hear you got what you wanted!
Good luck on the search for the 97+, The Maxima's forsale area constantly has some of the best prices I've seen, then again, I live in an area where Maxima's generally cost more than they do in other places.

Maybe use some of that money for a DigitalCamera

Wow, that's low miles. I have about 80k right now on my '98. Was your car giving you problems? You can't buy a very reliable car for 2900. I think you can buy a 4th gen as cheap as 3500, but imagine how much $$$ you have to put into it, either money-wise or time-wise to get it into decent shape. I just spent $460 to get the service engine soon lamp off at 76k. It was a total waste of time to try to reset it myself from the directions on the web. The dealer did it right and the car drives better now, especially when the weather and motor are hot and also when the fuel level is low. Sometimes the forum attempts to instruct us how to jerry-rig stuff, not correct the problems!

Thanks for the good luck stuff....

As listed in my 1st post...those were the only problems. But you gotta think about it...there is absolutely NO DEMAND for a 13 yr old maxima...you know? Some say I was lucky getting that much for it.

But, I think it was fair...compared to Kelly Blue Book @ $2,700.

The first VE's are approaching 13 years and they are still sought after, having a *very* tough time finding a 5-spd myself. I think I may have to bite the bullet and go 4th gen.

Oh, you're not admin? Only Kevin/Jane are?

Well anyway Doug, just to let you know - I took your sarcasm too seriously. I thought you were actually serious on everything you say. So, I am sorry bro.

happy hunting

glad you made the tough choice. so how many times have you been kicked out of .org?

my bro's doing valve cover gasket change himself. It's not that hard. (-6 hours)

master cylinder tiny leak-- brake? you didn't fix it yet???

bent control arm--will take some time, but not extremely hard to replace.
