OK, remember last time I drag raced the Maxima I had times between 15.9 and 17.8. I was wondering what was up, and I later discover I had a 1/2 flat tire running at 9 PSI. I have a home made cone filter for speed modsifications. Well I went to the track last night and made 4 passes, this time, I ran between 15.6 and 15.1! My third run I did the most massive burnout in the world with both FWD tires spinning.. dumb me had the windows down and by the time I was 1/2 way down the track (windows up by then) I could not see anything or breathe. My trap speed was at 92.33 on the 15.1 run. And this was running with my 130 lb subwoofer box in my trunk, full interior with "junk" piled all over the car. Still got to work on my launch, the 2 fastest runs I took off with a tremendous amount of wheel hop.

There was another maxima at the track last night a white 96 GLE automatic who ran 15.9s. What really amazes me is how those damn civics were able to put out 14.5 second 1/4 miles. They've gotta be juiced. I'm sure I can break the 14 second barrier by loosing the subwoofer box and cleaning out the inside of my car.

But then, last night I was on the street racing a Jetta VR6 (or maybe it was passat), but I was pulling away from him and then all of the sudden my engine doesnt go any faster.. Oh **** I broke something I thought, cause I was only pulling 4000 RPM in 3rd gear. It was because I ran out of gasoline. I was literally running on fumes and i LOST. The bastard went by and flashed his hazards... grrr...

 

Especially with just the intake mod you did. What was your best time in the Camry and what were your mods then ???? Do you like the Maxima better and do you think it is faster than the Camry ???? Also remember to have enough fuel !!!!!

 

whenever I get just below 1/4 tank...rpms hit 4000 and it cuts out...
