Nology PDA Dyno
Nology PDA Dyno
Anyone have any experience with this thing?
Is it worth a buy?
For those who dont know, you attach it to your cars OBD II connector and it displays useful info on your PDA:
Measure:
Horsepower and Torque
0 to 60 times
1/8 and 1/4 mile time and speed
Fuel Economy (MPG)
Display:
Generic OBD II Engine and Vehicle Information
Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)
Displays real-time sensor data. Up to two sensors can be monitored and graphed simultaneously
Up to 5 sensors can be displayed in bar-graph and analog
Display following sensor types:
Load Value - Vehicle Speed - Coolant Temperature - Ignition Timing Engine RPM - Fuel Trim - Mass Air Flow - Intake Air Temperature Throttle Position - Fuel Pressure - Intake Manifold Pressure Oxygen Sensors. (Does not support Enhanced Powertrain Data)

It's the same exact thing as the Auterra DynoScan kit, only it has Nology on it and is $50 more expensive. It's Auterra's kit. I think Nology is licensing it from Auterra or something.

I have the older Auterra kit without the dyno scan software and some minor hardware connector differenes and I love mine. Dyno/acceleration software is a free upgrade for me, but not really useful unless you have very looooong stretches of completely flat and open road which I don't have here in the DC area. Shouldn't be a problem in Texas though.
I wrote up a big thread awhile back on all of the different Palm PDA OBD-II scan kits with pros and cons of each, but I can't find it at the test site and search is disabled here
so I can't link it for you.

I did some searching on the test site and came upon this:

Did some good reading this morning.

Thanks.
I'm still on the old software that doesn't have all of the dyno/acceleration/mpg stuff, so I kdon't know how well it all works. Dyno/Accel would be pretty useless around here since there's no straight/flat roads. MPG would be neat to try out, though. I usually just do the trip odometer vs gallons filled thing though to track mileage. Some live data would be neat, though.
