We had all kinds of NISSANs layin it down! from Datsun 1000 roadsters to the Famous ZTTs! To all who signed in, there was free food (sausage and drinks) free T-shirts, hats, key chains, Nissan News, A radio station showed up. We had a tech demonstration. All In all Southpoint NISSAN in Austin Texas rolled out the red carpet for us. We had a blast. I helped Bret89SE with his advanced timing and other various tips. got a lot of stares at the Ol' MAX too. Nismo87 rolled up in the 2nd GEN. There were 3 20th Edition Maximas SEs also(2 autos and 5spd).
Very cool indeed. One of the coolest things about the dealership was the use of a 4 story parking garage as their inventory lot; and they had a huge back lot for overflow.
DAMN cool day. Met a lot of people I did not know and B.S.ed with those I do know. FUN DAY. Pics up later. gotta wait till Russ2kSE gets home

I had a good time too......

It was nice to me more of you guys. I can't believe how Bret's timing was set, I bet his car had as much power as mine does. LOL Also Francis and I switched cars on the way home. It sure was different going from a 5 cylinder VG auto to a CAI equiped VQ 5spd. Matter of fact we raced each other too. In his car I was able to pace him in my car with half throttle . Plus I was in 5th gear too, his car pulls harder in 5th gear than mine does in 3rd gear! I although he has virtually the same suspension mods as I do, my car felt alittle bit more tossable. To me the 4th gen feels to big, you set higher your view of the road is less. But its hellifed fast though, damn now I got to make me a complete CAI from TB to MAF to cone filter. We will try again after I get my heads in .

yeah...it was great

South point did a really good job with the meet. A big thanks to them.
I got to see some older datsuns that i have never heard of before. Wish we all could have gone out and caravanned though, that would have been cool. Luckily it wasn't too hot. I'm looking forward to seeing some pictures.
Damn, nismo! I was in third at about 5300 RPM, floored. I guess losing that one cylinder really hurt you...haha...j/k! When you get everything straightened we'll go at it again and i'm sure it will be a lot closer....
Nice meeting you all and hope to see you all again at the next meet.

The meet was awesome guys and now I am beat! I just got home 1 hr ago as well. We waited forever for NISMO and Bret to show back up, but they never did so we left. Anyways, lots of cars, OVER 100 pictures were taken, and I will have them up tonight or tomarrow sometime. I gotta find space to put them up somewhere...But thats not a problem. Glad to meet you guys, Francis, Zprime, Nismo, Bingo, New Climax, Bret, and of course my buddy, Mr. Rose . Anyways, it was one heck of a fun time and would love to do it again. Wasn't that hot, but the sun sure did cook me!

Yes indeed...

That rocked. Good to finally meet Nismo, Francis, and Mr. Rose. Too bad I didn't get to race me a lightly modded 4th or 5th. I probably woulda gotten taken, but just interested in how I'd fair especially after that timing. My car's timing must have been too low. Now it seems like it WANTS to haul ***. I found the screw that goes into the ball on my shifter, now I just gotta put that bad boy in. Nismo let me know how those heads and cams do. Err heck I'll drive down to Houston and we'll have a mini meet. Well, Hasta La Vista guys.

Doh....should have convoyed with the houston people

for at least half of the way on 290....
Glad to see new faces and old faces at the meet
I should have arrived earlier...but I slept at 6 that morning
by the way.....I can feel my car bogging down that day after the long travel...but as soon as the sun went down and my car temp drops a tad as the weather gets cooler...it got power again....
Thats pop charger for you in a hot weather....
Got to find a way to increase cool air flow inside the engine bay...I doubt any hot air deflector for the air filter will do me good...leaving the stock air pipe helps the filter but that ain't enough
extra fan? Hood scoop? Ice box? CAI?

anyway that was great....

try this.......

try getting things uot of the way between the POP and the headlamp area. I removed my hood seal, rubber piece between the corner lamp and headlamp, moved my secondary fuse panel down below the level of the old intake pluming. also moved my battery over tworad the engine. also took off heat padding under the hood where the filter a ne hood meet.
might even consider a high power small motorctycle battery.
but the CAI is only $215 other than free mods, your stuck. I plan on a Hood scoop! old Z31 scoop If I ever find one
