Launch Control AKA 2-Step or Stutter Box

Looking for ideas on this, any of you guys know about this sorts stuff.

Harlen makes this for the LS1, look at this video and see how it helps the turbos spool. http://harlan-engineering.com/store/...ics/proto2.mpg

Their is also this, but ist over $1k and I would need to put the ABS sensors and trigger wheels from and ABS Max on my car. http://www.racelogic.co.uk/traction.htm

JWT also says they can put a two step in their ECU, I dont know if its a user adjustable rev limit or not and its prolly $450.

The Racelogic seems like it would be really nice as it is also traction control, are their any alternative products that may be less expensive?

Does E-manage incorporate a two step maybe?

I have seen a two step rev limiter on a neon with an autronic ecu that was wired with the e-brake which was pretty cool. If JWT could do something like that it would be awesome. If I were you though, especially with your upcoming engine project, I would go ahead and get a standalone engine management system and save some of the tuning headaches.

Thanks for the reply, I kinda think true standalone would be nothing but a tuning headache?

yeah, I think it would be rough at first to get it set up, but the benefits would be good once it was running. The problem is you would be breaking new ground, but I guess you aren't scared of that. You already have a J&S though, which provides much of the benefit of a standalone. I don't really know what I would do.

as far as I know, no 2 step on Emanage...

I think the JWT is 2 seperate preset limits...heh, JWT is all about "you tell me what you want, I set it AND THATS FINAL!"

There might be another option. I recall from the old se-r mailing list of guys getting the 2 step rev limiter from JWT and adjusting the early rev limit with a variable resistor. Also is the MSD digital 6 incompatiable with the 4th gen DIS? That would be a nice alternative and its not expensive either.

I would check with the DSM guys and see what they're using. I know that most of the quick guys use stutter boxes and they tend to find things pretty cheaply. I'll ask around here and see what I can find as well.

Matt I did a little research on this and its almost impossible with a coil on plug setup. You would have to replace the ignition system with an Electromotive type setup which would replace all the coil on plug sheit and run plug wire like a regular setup. Cost ????

It is very effective though my Son has a DSM and he just raised his 2-step from 5250 to 5750 and it reduced his 60' from 1.95 to 1.75 and his et from 13 to 12.5.
