CF hood on Rosewood . . . Yay or Nay?

I was concidering a CF hood from Custom Maxima or Redline Max, theyre pretty cheap now too. However I dont know if it would look good on Rosewood, thats why im posting this thread, for your opinions . . .

1.) Which CF hood is of better quality? RedlineMax or CustomMaxima?

2.) Do you think A CF hood would look good on a Rosewood or would it look awkward or out of place?

note: My current mods are: eibach/tokico, diamond clears, tints, I am on the stock 16in 5 spokes.

Thanks for the input.

hell yay... I think it would basically look good on any color, especially dark colored cars.

Thanks for the input guys . . . Supa, do you have any closeup pics of the hood, are the gaps on each side even? I also noticed you dont have hoodclips, how did you get around that, factory latch? Is it secure?

Gaps aren't even b/c it's a fiber images hood. They were known for their hoods not fitting right. I've seen the redlinemax hood and that looks a lot better and fits better than my hood. Actually, I do have hoodpins on my hood.

My question is what is the difference between the two fit and finish? Custom maxima states of it not fading because of the special epoxy used on the hoods. But redmax.com doesnt state that. Not to say they dont, but what would be the difference?

Carbon Fiber hoods that do not have a nice qaulity finish will turn yellow, chip easily and cause the weaves to loosen.

I believe redlinemax does have a nice finish on their hoods. I havent heard of anyone being disastisfied with any of their produscts.
When their new CF hood is out thats who im going with.

Get an intake and y-pipe before the CF hood.

As for looks, I think most unpainted CF hoods look silly, but it's not as bad on a darker car.

Rosewood's a nice color, but a tough one to two tone with. I would say no on the black CF hoods. But then, someone mentioned that CF hoods go yellow over time. Yellow actually compliments Rosewood quite well. Same goes for wheels. If you could tint the wheels like slight tint of gold, or that clear yellow like **** (sorry for the gross description) it would work very well on Rosewood. I would then do the same for the Maxima emblem on the back and the Nissan emblem on the front. Then I'd make the rear clear tails yellow by tinting the interior chrome in the reverse lights and the turn signals. On the front, the clear corners and sides would be tinted yellow as well. To finish it off, I would take my headlights apart, and tint the chrome interior parts with a slight Gold tint. That would be one badass Rosewood Maxima.

I agree, that car looks really good. I do believe that certain cars look better then others with carbon fiber. I plan on painting mine. Me personally, i don think my white car would look nice with a dark hood. But thats my opinion.

mecca
i never said it looked nasty but i did say IT DOESN'T WORK FOR ME.

i don't like the way the C/F hood looks on a rosewood car, if it looked so f*cking beautiful don't you think my car would of have one installed a long time ago?

i like the C/F hoods on most color cars (like black, silver, red, blue and so on) but not on rosewood.

and yes i have seen a few of Ange's C/F hood and they look very nice. if i need a hood i would call Ange, she's the best to deal with and she is local.

yea i feel u, but it depends on how you dress your car up. The car angie posted was more sporty looking wit the skyline front bumper. Your car is all PIMP! Chrome rims and all, i agree wit u, this wouldnt look good on your car. Well wouldnt look bad but would mess up the image you are trying to portray for your car, PIMPIN

I have a white Maxima and I'm planning on buying the carbon fiber hood. I was just in an accident and I definitely need a new hood. I'm just not sure if I want to paint the CF hood or not. I think I'll just install it and paint it later if I don't like the look.

if you're going to paint it, you'll be better off getting a stock.. you wanna show off the weave.
