Hi....I just bought a set of denso plugs for my 98 maxima and for the life of me, could not locate anywhere in the owner's manual or under the hood that would tell me the gap for the plugs. Are they pregapped or self-gapping for this car? anyone know?

Did you get the IK16? It should be pregapped->

I don't remember the exact gap..something like .044 or .44.

Sure about that? I got the IK16's from the shop and all I told them was the make and model of my car. They run fine.

I just got with Andy from A& H Motorsports and he confirmed it is the IK16 plug needed for our cars.

i talked t denso..

they said ik20 will be good heat range"6", for s/c ed. which is equivelent t ngk6. the stock heat range for maxima is ngk 5,which is a dennso ik16 "5" heat range. up or down 1 i don't think should matter. the number ik16, ik20 ,heat ranges are intervals of 4. a "7" would be ik24 etc. the gap is .044.

I've had denso iridiums, and I dont remember what the number is on it exactly, but I know its the lower better heat range. Its a colder plug for S/C cars. I had to gap mine. It came way too small. Before I install my S/C, I'll be checking them for any wear or anything. They seem to run perfect though.

Ok from what sleeper is stating it looks like the IK20 is for boosted cars. and IK 16 for non boosted cars. I looked at the 300Z and they give the same #'s. So I think the IK 20 is for TT cars. and IK 16 for N/A. Is this correct or do I have it switched around?
