Are my brakes f*cked or something else?

I usually drive pretty hard on my brakes etc and it seems liek the symptoms are from that...I presume I have warped rotors but not too sure...first off there is shaking when I brake, and when I turn the wheel right or am braking on a right turn it is a lot worst and almsot feels as if something were loose? Also this morning I left home with my windows open and when not accelerating I heard a sound, almost as if the pad were rubbing on the rotor but not completely? The car only has 14k now and if the rotors or pads are already gone then I must say Nissan has a very crappy braking system....any help with this woul dbe greatly appreciated...Thanks

I have 83k and replaced the pads myself in the high 60's and I still don't have any pulsation. I did not have the rotors cut when I replaced the pads.

One thing that is annoying is that the parking brakes seem to bind ie causing a squeaking sound at low speeds after releasing the parking brake.

From what you say it does sound like rotors, but when you say turning right is worse, that's odd. I'm sure your pads are fine at 14k, but if you are hard on the car maybe your rotors are shot. If you have an auto that makes it worse. Let us know what you find.

Mike, I lost a pad and had similar symptoms. one of my brake pads broke. The pad itslef came off the metal plate that mounts to the caliper. I had metal on metal braking. That's why I have brembo rotors now...had to change them anyway.

if you drive that hard on them, then you can (and WILL) wear out the brakes in 15k miles. I have a friend with a 350Z track model that's already gone through 4 sets of pads since the spring. they track the car at least 3 times a month, but still.

before you do any more damage, rip the brakes apart and go through them looking for worn out pads, cracked, warped, or gouged rotors... replace as necessary.

If you treat it like a race car, then expect to maintain it like a race car.
