Mr Cranman--Where'd he go?

What happened to Mr Cranman. I just did a search and his last post was over 6 months ago. Anyone know?

if you go to the group deal forum, look for his VI group deal and read the last few pages of the thread and you can see what was going on while he was gone. apperently a bunch of ppl are without VI, VI parts, and cash.

Maybe something happened to him. I've dealt with him and he came through, for me and quite a few others. Perhaps something happened t o him that was beyond his control.

Something did happen.. he had supply issues.. but i think what everyone wants to know is.. if you can't get the parts.. why don't you just give the money back..

i think he is just in over his head now..

this is wierd because this is the second VI deal i backed out of and it went sour

I dealt with him too and he was on top of things for me every second, was great to deal with. I was one of the first people to buy through him though. Anyhow on one hand I hope nothing bad happened to him, but on the other hand if nothing bad happened then he needs to take care of his obligations.

I got a VI form him early as well.. good transaction

then I when I blew my RPM switch, he sent me an RPM switch to me BEFORE I paid for it. I paid him 3 days AFTER I got it.

So I really hope there is a GOOD reason for all of this.

I got my MEVI from him back last November. I must have been among the last people that got anything from him. He was really great to deal with. Like Sprint suggested, I think he ended up over his head. Maybe he got screwed by his supplier after paying up front for a big order. Makes you wonder who his supplier was ...

Did someone ever contact his pops? Any and everyone that sent in the cash for a VI sent them to his father's house. I wouldn't contacted his father to see what the hell is going on. I emailed him when people complained abot him running off with the cash but I didn't get a reply.

I think something bad may have happened to him.

I used to talk to Mr. Cranman regularly, even after I got my VI from his first group deal. I know his supplier was in Japan, and worked well with John on everything. I would suspect something happened if there has been no response.

I was really surprised when I first read about this. I talked to him back and forth for about a month while everyone was looking for suppliers for the VI. He found one (supplier) first so I got the first one he mailed out. He wouldn't let me buy one or send him any money until he got his and made sure all the parts were there, then he gave me the go ahead to send the money to him. He was really nice to deal with and always le me know exactly what was going on.

Sucks to hear about this.

John was by far one of the WORST people I've ever done business with. I ordered my VI in october with the promise that I'd receieve it in Dec. I didn't end up getting it until March! Not to mention that he just left me in the dark for weeks at a time and wouldn't respond to ANY of my emails. I was pretty sure for a while that he had just pulled a roadbeast and ran off with my cash. Unless John is dead, I can't imagine that he's not trying to screw people over.

I ordered my VI from him in September of last year and got it sometime mid-December. He was always very professional, responsive and friendly. It would be a shame if he ran off with people's money, and even more so if something happened to him.

I used to talk to him all the time as well. Have no clue what happened to him. All I know is one day I tried talkin to him on his SN and his wife came on sayin she uses his name all the time online. She also told me that he is overseas in the Air Force and that is why he hasn't gotten back to me in a few months. Dunno how true this is but John and I always kept in touch even after I got my VI from him in Nov of 02. He always let me know what was going on with the shippment and was always willing to help me out when I had a problem with something too. I just don't understand what the heck happened here if he's not overseas.

I dealt with John last year and I had no problems. KMax brouhgt up a very good point. John was involved in the armed services. It is quite possible that he was deployed to the middle east and when you get deployed, you have very little warning (sometimes one day to prepare). If he's in the middle east, he may or may not have access to a computer depending on his job. He is also not allowed to divulge his location either or what he is doing.

That, my boy, would be one helluva flight. I should know...I flew from ATL to there once...

I wanted to commit suicide halfway there.

Well it is New Mexico. Theres at least 6 shootings on the news every night. Not to mention the 10 stabbing, 4 vehicular homicides, and the 1212075109274 DWI arrests.

I don't know about the "getting in over his head" theory. I just hope he didn't bite one. Anyways, his supplier apparently is still in business. Maybe someone wants to do some legwork and follow up:

I think something serious may have happened to him. When I delt with him he was straight as an arrow. He even sent my stuff before I paid him.

I had no problems with him, it took so long that I was thinking about sell the car and spoke with him about a refund. Took about 1 month but he sent me back a check minus wire fees.

I also dealt with him for my mevi needs and he was coo about everything. Although the deal had some minor setbacks, I got everything that I payed for. It doesn't seem he would be the type of person to just take off like that. During the whole transaction, he kept me informed. I hope nothing bad happen to him.
