Got mods for xmas and haven't put them on yet? Got a fstb a few days before xmas from my gf and it is still in the box...Sad huh or Lazy......

 

It is real easy and only takes about 10 minutes. Whoi cares if it's raining out do it haha.

Hahaha... me too... my brother got me a FSTB and I haven't put it on yet. It's collecting dust on my bedroom floor. But I've tried putting it on, it's just that my struts are all crusty. I don't think they've been touched in the five years that my family has had that car. I cleaned one of them and used WD-40 and a heat-gun... nothing. Won't budge.

 

I put mine on the day I got it... just find the longest handled socket wrench you can and give it a try. I had to brace myself and put my whole body into it before those things came off, even with WD40.

 

Get a wrench onto the bolt and then Just use a 5 foot hollow steal pole, no WD40 needed all you need to do is lean on it and it comes right off. It's a peace of cake.

 

Until you break the wrench in half from using a five foot long extension

 

I usually install the same day I buy it.

 

I put mine on the same day. it only took half an hour, cause i had to bend mine, I have the courtesy bar, and the VE motor, there isnt much clearance, so i had to bend the bar just enough that it clears without hitting either the hood and manifold.
I used my air gun, piece of cake!:P

but , yes, all you really need to do is put all your weight into the ratchet, or socket with a johnson bar and extension

 

the longer you wait to put it on... the more you kick yourself once you do have it on... (you'll see)
