GET A LAWYER.
The ONLY option.
I would NOT go to court without one.
You may end up with more fines.... reckless driving would be one of those.
And your insurance should double if your under 25

I don't have one but I plan on getting a valentine 1. A friend of mine has one in his 911 and speeds like crazy and has never gotten a speeding ticket! Of course these are not effective if the cop does not scan anyone else and just hits you at the last minute.
In the mean time play it smart. Police will usually run radar under bridges or over the tops of hills, take it easy in these area's. Also if you are not familiar with the surroundings I wouldn't speed more than 10mph (a ticket for 10mph and under will not go on your record in most states.)
Most importantly do not contact your insurance company about this or ask them what your rates will increase to. No one will send your insurance company a notice that you have a speeding ticket on your record, the only way they will find out is if they run an audit on you, so consider staying with this insurance company for a while (audits are run at random sometimes, but are always run when you are switching insurance companies.) I have a 90 in a 60 on my record and my insurance has still not found it in over a year Hope that helps, now take it easy, that is a pretty heafty ticket.

How did the cop catch up 2 you??? And why were you going over 90 anyways, thats like an instant death in a crash waiting to happen!!! Usually the cop always shows up, they never miss that crap, how are you gonna get out of the trap speed anyways, there gonna make you go to driving school for 2 4 hour classes for speeding. OMG your in ****, I hope the judge is leniant!

Honestly, I doubt he'd miss that court date, and I'm also pretty suprised he didn't cuff you and bring you in for felony wreckless driving. I guess since you were the only person on the road it wasn't as dangerous in his mind. (which is true I suppose.

I did 110 in 55 a few years ago, and the cop let me go. No one will detain for speeding, but this is a serious traffic violation. In MD, it would qualify for 5points and $270 ticket. A lawyer is a MUST in your case. Judge will get very mad if you won't get one. I was lucky to pay for a lawyer but the cop didn't show up, so the charges against me got dropped.

damn, goin over 100mph on I-5 is all too common... you are a sucker to drive that fast w/o a radar detector (it works best on that freeway!).
are you eligible for traffic school? I dont think it matters if you over-pay your ticket... the points will still be there regardless.

dam thats crazy. Hey has anyone ever got stopped by a police officer that didnt even scan? I have the Escort 8500 and got stopped by police a few months back for racing a car on the rt 1 in new jersey near edison area. My radar didnt go off the entire time as i passed him and when i saw him, first thing i did was put on my brakes (should have shifted down a gear instead). he must have seen my red lights and knew that I knew i was speeding and stopped both of us. He didnt give me a ticket for any specific speed cause i'm thinking he didnt even clock me (radar didnt go off). But i got a ticket for wreckless driving. In times like this, waht can i do? what are my chances when he has no proof? Thats the only thing that scares me when speeding.

if he laser tagged you, you're radar detector is useless. By the time the laser hits you, he gets a reading instantly... and the detector only works if the laser is pointed at you

Pray the cop doesn't show up.
In most states, anything over 20 mph is an automatic court appearance. The wife was speeding in NC (21 mph over) and they did not let her pay the fine. She had to show up in court. The cop never showed up (probably snacking on some donuts somewhere ), so the judge brought the 21 over to 14 over, she ended up paying the fine and court costs.
Good Luck and stop speeding.

please either just pay the fine or get a lawyer. Like the saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true, it is. Not cashing the return check and using a technicality like a misspelled name do not work.

I dont have to go to court.. I asked the cop if it would help If I went to court to speak with the judge he just laughed and said no.

Dude, either
A) Pay the fine, STFU, and stop speeding like a damn moron
B) Hire a lawyer, "try" and fight the ticket (you'll probably get it reduced)
C) Go into court with no lawyer and get verbally raped by the judge

so, you can go to court to
a) hope the cop doesn't show
b) hope they reduce the fine
c) bring a lawyer and argue the cop made a mistake
do NOT go and act like you deserve anything... you were speeding, you got caught, the judge is going to get pi**ed if you go to court and not have a good reason for being there....and trust me, if the judge is pi**ed, you're screwed.
I asked earlier for you to post details... so post them. How far away were you when he got you? How much traffic was there? Were there other cars near you? Was the cop moving? DETAILS... if you want help.

So then don't go, I am sure a you would rather have an arrest warrant instead a speeding ticket.

This thread went predictably south.
There's more than enough good advice in this thread. I'm curious if you can figure out which advice to follow.
