I think it looks very nice. I wish Nissan would make it a 2-door instead.

I think the Mazda Protege MP3 looks better... But the SER is meaner .

The mazda has 18 inch wheels. The filled up wells look awesome. Nissan should make that an option. I also like the fact that Mazda will offer a Racing Beat Exhaust system, and a Racing Beat intake straight from the factory. I

I like the SE-R's stereo better though... The Mazda has an MP3 player, but less speakers. They both have 280 watts, but the MP3 has 4 speakers and a big Kenwood Subwoofer. The SE-R has 9 speakers.

The MP3 is lighter.

You know, I really dont know which one I like better. They are almost equal. The MP3 is kinda pricey though. 17 to 18 grand.

Sentra SE-R....

....is probably faster though and I think that is the primary reason I would get it over an MP3. Not to mention a 6 speed and hopefully 0-60 in under 7!

I liked the Mazda MP3 a lot too, Nardi steering wheel, sport seats, short-throw shifter, mp3 player, metal pedals, etc...

I sat in it at the Detroit auto show and it was amazing, but my dreams were crushed when the mazda person said it had only 140hp, WEAK!

but those salesmen are know to be full of it

anyone have any other numbers?

The SE-R looks pretty tight.....So does the Mazda MP3, but if it that weak, then the SE-R would be the one to get.

Yeah its kind of weak. If I bought it. Id install the Exhaust and Intake, but still. They should have made it a little better. The 140 is only a 10 horsepower increase over the ES 2.0.

What about that Focus SVT? The pocket rocket is returning. The new Si is in development too. The Si will be based on the European hatchback model. That would be pretty cool.

Actually Speedvision says 150. Not bad.

I like mazdas planning. They release the Mazda MP3, and then they make the Protege 5 wagon which has the same 150hp 2.0 liter engine. That Wagon is tight! Looks good in yellow. I justa saw this all on Speedvision.

The new Car and Driver had a preview of the Focus SVT. It will have a warmed over version of the 2L 4 cyl, making about 170hp. I wish they'd put in the Contour's 2.5L V6. Even though the hp is the same, it would still have more torque.
And I hear the new Civic Si is supposed to get the current Integra GS-R's 1.8L 4cyl. It's a good move, considering the new Civic EX already gets a new version of the old Integra's 1.7L, and that the Integra replacement will move up to 2L.

According to Road & Track it should be sub $30K. It looks pretty sweet, but what is up with 153 lb-ft of torque @ 7500 RPM? Sounds like it will have a great top end, but no pick-up...

The MP3 looks nice, but it does need more chaones. The Sentra V-spec has a supposed 180 hp, wow!
