Not sure how many middle Tennesseans here, but hoping for a lead on reliable Nissan mechanic, prefer Nashville..or NW of Nashville. Anybody know of one?

Hippodrome Nissan

I've heard various people mention Hippodrome Nissan. That's where my soon-to-be Maxima is heading this weekend for transmission work.

Hello fellow Cheatham Countian.. :-) and hey..if you see me now..I'm in a grey SE not a black GXE, so if you see me around town, toot at me. You can see the wrecked GXE out at Bowman's for probably another couple of days. :-) As for a mechanic, I'm interested in someone other than a dealer. Since I don't have a warranty to deal with, I just hate "bending over" for the dealer.

What did you end up getting? Especially if it's needing transmission work already?

For quality Nissan repairs, I highly recommend the following shop:

Sumner County Import Car Service
179 Commerce Drive, Suite 1
Hendersonville, TN 37075

Phone (615) 824-3444

Owner: Dennis Sisco

Dennis specializes in nissan repairs and has worked on my cars for over the last 10 years. Good guy and quality work.

My brother has a 1999 Max SE, white with 5-speed. The note is a little high for him, so I'm going to buy it and he'll get a pickup truck.

As for what happened to the transmission... My brother went up to Silverados one Saturday evening, and got a little sloppy. On the way home he decided to see how fast the car would go. So he's chugging along at 140 mph, and accidently shifts the car from 5 to 2. Goodbye 2nd gear.

In his defense, the transmission is supposed to lock you out from making dumb shifts like that, so it's being repaired under warranty. They're just taking their sweet time doing, very likely because they know how desperate I am to get behind the wheel

Nashville area is Crawford's Z Car Service. Never had a problem with them and they do good work. They pretty much only work on Nissans.

I haven't heard of the import place in Hendersonville, but I'll keep that one in mind...

Here's the scoop:

1622 State Street
Nashville, TN 37203
(615) 327-4159
