Maxima dilema

Recently I decided to sell my current Maxima to my uncle so i could get myself a nice 5spd. While I was looking around I found a 98 5spd full of features with 78k miles, but I also came across a 2000 GTI VR6 with 40k. For some reason I'm drawn to the GTI, but I love Maximas. I don't know much about VWs though. The Maxima is $8500 and the GTI is $9000. Should I switch teams? I'm curious to own a VR6. I'd apprieciate any advice. thanks

Drive both and then make your decision from there. Nobody can really make the decision for you

in 1.5 years that GTI is going to start falling apart and it's VERY VERY expensive to repair... don't forget to add that in to the cost.

That’s a real good price for that GTI, this car has better handling then the max, sweet interior, quick car. German engineering and really low miles. Nice car but will have electrical problems down the line like all other VW in the long run.

I like the GTIs but I also heard they a very expensive to repair, if you plan on keeping the car for a while then go with the Max.

VW are one of the nicer looking car around however they are not worth owning it in the long run. They are known for a lot of reliablity issues and electrical. If you're willing to plunk down a lot of cash to keep the car in optimal running condition otherwise stick with the Maxima.
