caliper on 300zx

caliper on 300zx

Just wondering if cast iron or aluminum is the bettter 300zx TT caliper? what are the benefits and what years are better? thanks

sorry about the double posts.. my interenet is weird... mod please delete the other posts re: calipers

the aluminum 30mm are the best...They are a few pounds lighter than the iron ones. That is really about the only difference. 30mm = wider brake rotors = longer life for the rotor. I believe they came on 92.5 - 94 only...but don't quote me on that

Alum calipers 30mm
90-92TT
91-92NA

years newer have the cast iron.
years older have the smaller calipers (28/26mm? i think)

cast iron = heavy
alum = lighter

you take your pick.

does cast iron disperse heat better? also, is the 1993 cast iron 30MM??? thanks

There really isnt issue with Calipers heating up to the level where we need to disperse heat better. We are more concerned with the pad and rotor.

Just get the alum caliper that is 30mm. 93-96 i believe are all 30mm.
