what is the 3000?

What does the 3000 number stands for on our engines? I think this is only on VQ30DE.

Roughly 3000cc's of displacement, also known as 3 liters.

So really the 3000 should say 2988 if we round it off correctly.

Thats IF the manufactuer's #'s are that accurate.
