Does anybody know when stillen stopped selling the V1's and converted over to the V2's?

I dont think i can handle the aggravation of V2 supercharger. Do you think I am better off going with nitrous?

What aggravation(s) are you referring to, black97max?
Mine's a daily driver. I don't even stomp it as much now as the cops are cracking down on street racing here. Only complaint is the squeaking belt during the winter months.

I've had the V2 on my Max since mid September and I drive it daily as well. I wouldn't worry about what type blower you get. I sure didn't and I've never looked back(except to look at all the cars I'm passing!)

There have been many V2 owners who have had horrible experiances with the V2 supercharger. You two are the only ones that i have heard of that have not had a problem. I just want some problem free boost.

There is a post somwere here, possibly in the 5th gen forum, with a guy with a disintegrating blower. IIRC It was a bearing or something. Apparently Votrec hasn't worked out all the bugs.

It's a pain in the a$$ when you have to buy a new motor when you are still paying for the car! It has made me think twice.

Bearing scraps being sucked in to the cylinder is not a good thing.

THe guy did not say it blew his enging but there were metal fillings around.

I did not know there were metal shavings found around the area.

But that is also an isolated case. But it is a good point to make.

Reading about other people's V2 woes makes me wonder:

- how long have they had the V2?
- was it bought new or used?
- what was their driving style (like..."heavy on the throttle", "once in a while" pedal stomping or "only for passing") up to the incident?

I'd be interested in the responses from other V2 owners.

As for myself:
- Since Oct.2000
- New
- "Once in a while" pedal stomping style

-It was bought NEW. I waited ~2 months until I finally got it and Stillen did the install themselves.

-I don't boost all the time. I just use it whenever I feel like...so "once in a while"

Jane97SE...I tried looking back in the threads..

to where you posted your problem but I can't find it. Did you have the bearings go on your V2 as well? I'm wondering if that is common with the V2.

Nope, the bearings didn't go out.

black97max: To answer your original question. If I remember correctly Stillen went with the V2's around this time last year. It seems to me (from other V2 owners) that Stillen fixed the bugs.

Thank you for your response. This was actually the kind of answer that I was looking for when I first posted the question.
