If I'm not mistaken, the rear wiper was a OEM JDM option.

seems like the only cars that have it are 2 dr hatchbacks. i wish i had one sometimes when it rains or snows. i wonder how much long it would actually take to install. probably really easy to mount and not too expensive to get the parts.

I would think the tint is causing more of a problem then water.I dont really have a problem with water effecting my rear view.

not worth it. I have a rear windshield wiper on my celica (2dr hatchback) and it's pretty useless. Trust me, the tint is pretty dark on that AND also has a broadway mirror... doesn't make much of a difference.

If you want to talk about not being able to see smoethin outta the back... you should see my rear window (maxima). The tint got all screwed up and it's all hazy and foggy... cant' see crap outta there during the day or nite! I still survive driving!

your not driving fast enough.....

Really though, sometimes I think about it, normally when switching cars. Sometimes I'm surprised the 5th gen doesnt have one, other times i'd expect my 3rd gen to have one.

I've learned that Rain-X once a month is more than enough to take car of the rain if it does stay on the back window. Normally the only time there is water on the window is in the morning when the car is sitting outside.

If there is snow, well I never use the wind shield wipers to clear the snow/ice off the windows, so thats not much of a problem.

Rain-X++.

Btw, I live in Seattle, and I have to say that Rain-X does work 9 months of the year.

Well, here in New Zealand, some Maxima's DO come with rear window wipers, 4th and 5th Gens. More common to see them on the 5th though. Mine doesn't have one, but I've often thought it'd be quite useful to have one for when you've parked on a busy street in the rain and the water has pooled on the back window making it impossible to clearly see out of. I've actually found the rear defroster can help speed up the clearing process though

I can get a pic if I have my camera and I see one. I'll throw in close-ups of splattered summer-bugs on the windscreen for free
