Okay guys.. post your quarter mile times. Just curious as to what you guys are running?

 

Most guys with 5 speeds and the typical mods (y-pipe, intake, exhaust) are running high 14s/low 15s @92-94mph. There are some good drivers among us that have pulled 14.3-14.4@95-97mph. The 95-99 and 00-01 Maxima's are very close in performance.

I live in Kansas City and actually got to race a lot of GTPs when they were here for the "Gathering". What was funny is that I always *****ed about how slick my track was over at the GP forum and most guys told me it was my car that was slow, not the track. Well, when they came to my track (KCIR), most of them were .3-.4 off their best. The stock GTPs were running 15.2-15.4@89-90mph except one that hit a 14.99@90mph. I ran my best that night of a 14.91@94mph and I had my best trap speed ever of a 15.0@96mph. I was trapping out at speeds very close to the (3.4,3.5) pullied GTPs, but they were running 14.6-14.8 vs my 14.9.

Yeah they get high trap speeds but not much better times cause of the auto tranny. I spanked one guy off the line but after the 60' he passed me to get a 14.3 to my 14.9. I have seen a GTP on slicks get a low 13 but he had a lot of work done. This was at moroso in west palm florida.

My experience is different with the GTPs. Usually they kill me off the line due to their awesome torque advantage, but by the top of 2nd and thru 3rd I'm catching up and sometimes pass. I've run a couple "heavily" modded GTPs that kill me in the 1/4 mile, but after 100mph they are lucky to pull me at all. You're right, the auto tranny does kill the GTPs performance in the topend. They pretty much just use 1st and 2nd the whole track with a few going into 3rd if they are one of the quicker ones.

The low 13 second one was here for the "Gathering". He was running mid 13s without NOS and higher 12s with the NOS, if I remember right.

Actually, its not quite that much Nitrous (NOS is a brand).
I am bordering 13's all Motor (no nitrous or s/c)...the new set up (stay tuned) will definately be a mid, low 11's street car.

i have seen gtps's here do low 13's to mid 15's
it all varies on mods
i dunno what i can squeeze out of my gsx yet
i got mid-low 13's out my celica
got mid-high 13's out of my maxima

so who knows

hey lurker, your talking crap about someone spraying while your running a s/c? wow...smart...lol. this summer when i hook up my nitrous ill run you, maybe ill win maybe not but i know id rather spend 600 setting up nitrous than the price of a s/c right now...

Sorry if I sounded defensive, but I know where this is gonna end up. I think it started with the POS owner that said he whipped up on some stock Maxima with his "supercharged" Ponti-ache. I'm just sick of it.

i don't like bragging but check out my time in my sig.

 

I ran a new personal best last Thursday, listed in my sig. It was just too cold to hookup well at the start. I can't wait for the first nice warm day, followed by a nice *cool* evening at the track. 14.5's, here I come! And then, it's time for the nitrous experiment, and 13.9's (?).

By the way, on one of my runs, I had an r/t of .501, and my hapless opponent redlighted with a .497! Poor ba$tard! :-)

 

dang....i had no idea all you guys were running such good times. i knew about don already but didnt realize so many of you were getting such low e/t's. nice work.
