What's the best way to keep your wheels on?
I was reading UncleMax's thread down there and got the impression that wheel locks don't do much good. People are also pretty desensitized to alarms nowadays so if your max is parked farther away, people can take off with your wheels also. What do you guys think is the best way to make sure that your wheels won't get stolen?
Lug nuts...five per wheel. >>
Just playin' wit ya...
If the wheel-locks and alarm don't work, there's no way to keep a thief from taking the rims...
Maybe two sets of wheel-locks...they'd have to snap two studs to get the wheel...

Ah that's not a good idea. What if you have a flat?

You think glue can stop someone? On my old car the lug nuts were stuck so i used all of my strength and it spun the stud until the whole thing broke in half. I had a lug nut with half of the wheel stud in my hand
That was in my winstrol days.

This is actually kinda funny that this came up...
A week ago, my friend had ordered some rims for his 2000 Ford Focus (****us)...well, he received them last night and so, we decided to go bolt them up to his car. Well, his stock rims have a center hub cap that he had removed...to help make the car look better (nothing on the planet could make a ****us look better).
Well, weathering and all that good stuff got inside the hub of the rim.
We were unbolting the rims and the rims would NOT come off. They were rusted on the hub!! What a piece of Ford! We were tugging and pulling, the rims were stuck. All i could do is laugh, since i have NEVER heard or seen that ever happen to a car.
We eventually hammered the crap out of the back side of the rim to pop them off the hub. Got all four of the old rims off and bolted up his new Enkei RS6s...
Point of the story is...Remove your center hub caps and let the hub rust the rim to it! I guarentee the would-be thief will spend quite some time trying to get it off...of course, you trying to just take them rims off might be a huge problem too. God i hate fords!

There are special keys that dealers can get to plug into the various security lug nuts.
My Max (demo) was delivered with security lugs, but no lug key. They took it in to the shop, and in 5 minutes the lugs were changed.
If anyone saw the universal socket from Craftsman, that is basically what it looks like. Think of a large socket with spring loaded hex shaped toothpics in it.
If they want your wheels, they will take it.
