cheapest insurance?

I've heard people bragging about getting full coverage for like $800 / year and i'm just curious how people do this. Do you have to be part of some association or have some connection to the insurer? I pay $1200 / year for pretty basic coverage with AAA (w/ 95 GLE, age 20, no accidents or tickets, straight A's), and this seems a little high to me since there's people paying like $400 less for FULL coverage. anyone have any advice on lowering my prices while increasing coverage? thanks!

Alot of it is due to your age. I pay about 1350 a year for both my '03 Accord, and '03 Altima 3.5, but Im also 30 yrs old with a clean record. My wife is 28 also with a good record.

I pay 139 a month full coverage for my 98 Max and 03 Honda CR-V with geico...but me and the wife are military so that helps quite a bit. We got Multi-Car, Security, Good Driver, and Military discounts. Oh and we are both 22.

Want cheap insurance? buy a collector car (that is basically anything old, muscle cars, etc).

Its less than $200 a year for full coverage, no driving restrictions.

you can get cheap insurance if you go to a local no-name insurance company but they might try to screw you if something happens, I speak from personal experience.

****, you guys think 1300 a year is bad? Try being 17 with 2 accidents that werent your fault and full coverage with average grades. Im paying almost 4 grand a year alone. Then my parents are only paying 70 a month for their two cars.

esurance.com I'm paying 12/year for full coverage on my '92 and liability only on the '89. I've even got a $1500 rider for mods.

is that full coverage?
try being me, 18, a wreckless driving, etc. $4000 a year, but that is because my mom helps me out and went off the family account and put me on a seperate one with her, other wise it would be $5000. That is BASIC insurance, no comprehensive, etc. it only covers the other people on the road, if anything happens to my car I'm SOL unless its the other guys fault and they dont try to lie about it.

I know how you feel man. That is for liability only, not full coverage. I would be paying 5500 a month for liability, but my friend is an insurance agent, and she got me this deal.

Want cheaper insurance?

Turn 25, get married, have a kid, buy a house, and drive less than 5k miles / year. Of course you'll spend $4billion on other things but your insurance will drop dramatically

Where I live my 1990 is $400 or the cheapest full coverage. The liability for me is $250/month. I only got liability until I can start working 40 hrs a week this summer and for college. I'm 17 years old too with a clean record all around. I am with state farm. I am NOT on my parents insurance.

Biggest factors:
1. Age (25+)
2. Driving record (Clean for 5 years +)
3. Location (suburbs with parking garage is best)
4. Type of car. (No little sports cars)

So basically, if you're young, just suck it up and try really hard to stay out of trouble.

I too had my period where my rates were sky high in my early twenties. Two accidents and a speeding ticket didn't help.

Now I'm 33, have basic coverage, living about 30 miles outside the city, and pay about $750/year (GEICO). Full coverage would be about $950 for me.

Now if I lived in NYC, I'd probably be paying double that.

when I first got my old gxe (about 5 or 6 years ago I think) my insurance was $2800 from Statefarm. After a year or two it went down to $2400 this year it went down to $1900 but I switched to Gieco and now its down to just under $1400 . and its always been limited liability, with a perfect record under my own name.

my brother just got his license in August and his insurance for his 93 explorer was like $4800 untill my Dad added him to his policy, now its around $3500 I think.

I know someone that looked into it, I think for up to $20,000 coverage it was $750 but you needed to have another car in your name, since your car is supposed to be a show car and not driven that much, they also didn check the mileage so you couldnt get caugh that way.

I forgot the name of the company, I'll try to find it. Its mainly based upon the fact that if you have a collector car, your going to take care of it and probably not going to be doing stupid things in it. Also since you probably wont be driving it when conditions are bad it also takes away alot of the risk. I think they frown upon using it as a daily driver, but I dont think they care enough to put a system into effect to monitor it (tracking mileage, etc). And $200 a year was full coverage, with an mutual agreement that the car is worth $12,000. So if it gets totaled, thats what they pay me. Now the problem is if it gets totaled, its not easy to find another one

Just got my 6 month renewal that will carry me into the summer.
With 03 max and 1995 conversion van (both with full coverage)
was like $1082 ( with 2 speeding tix). Last renewal was like $880
for same vehicles, the Max just jumped to a 18 insurance rating this time around
just as we've been hearing on the Org. So for full year- married , kids, suburbs of Cincy, age 32 be about $2000 yr. Oh well gotta have it!!

insurance and cheap cannot be used in conjunction.

well progressive sent me the automatic extension of my policy shall i choose to renew it for like 1080$, about 50$ less than the previous cycle, while geico is willing to sell me the same period for 380$ less. i am almost 20, and that is the bare minimum the law will allow me to buy. sucks.
