for the month of december/january that is anyway... i got 2. here is the first one

the second one i deserved, and cop was good enough to cut it down so no points and fine should be under $150. i got away with a lot, but sometimes you are just the minority on the roads. top it all i got hit in the macon/dooly area which is notorious for traffic traps, so its all my fault. he got me with radar, i saw him and slammed on the brakes. i was one second too late, since i passed him with 60, he cut the fine down because of effort on my side to avoid getting hit (and i quote him). had i had my high beams on, i would have seen him in time. he was even happy enough to write me a court appearance date if i am to fight it. so i got owned clear and fair.

over the past 7 days i counted and avoided over 58 traps, who knows how many more i didn't see. it just wasn't my week.... but i learned:

1. i broke my rule. first time in 3 years i drove on a holiday (4th july, labor day, xmas etc). it will be my last time
2. they are out just for the $$.
3. most cops are actually curteous when they make $$$ out of you. so feel free to talk to them. it's not going to save you the fine but it will make you digest it easier.
4. state and highway are on a break. it's the locals that are out.. makes sense anyway.
5. abuse the high beam. 90% of them rely on you just using your lows. sad aint it.
6. florida's finest WILL impound your car with pleasure. saw it first hand today.
7. it is only a ticket.
