Body Kit - Front Lip - Lowered ( How to get up on stuff example oil change ?)

I have a 97 Maxima. I have eibach proket springs, and the kyb's. I also have the stillen front lip on the car and with the changes the car is much lower.

After the work was done on the car I had to have some exhaust work done to tighten up and straighten the muffler. This meant I had to drive up on the lifter (LOL dont know what its called) at the Exhaust Pros and have him lift the car up in the car so he could check things out underneath.

The car was too low to make it up on the ramp. So we had to take a 2x4 and cut it in half. Then positioned them so I could ride up on them. Im glad it worked with out them I was getting up.

I have already started thinking about the dealership. They have the same style system i think.

I wanted to hear from other people who are lowered and have body kits. I need to learn the how to's. Are you guys having the oil changed at nissan and are you able to get on the ramp thing ?

what places to go to have things done at ?

Put several pieces of wood in your trunk if you take it any where. Make a stair system with them up to the plat form for each wheel and you should be fine.

ahahaha.. eibach's and a lip, you should try JIC's and an m-bumper. I have to drive up on 2 blocks, then jack up the front of the car and jack up the rear to get it high enough to fit the arms under it.

best advice is to just make sure you take your car to somewhere or someone who knows what to do, otherwise you will run into some big issues.

Go to a place that has a walk down room under the car. It would of helped ohannon7 but he and I messed up his front lip trying to get his car up the lift. It fu<ked up his paint job. Chips and fractures of the paint all over the place. Sometimes going to a lift can be hazardous for the front. Just find a place that as a walk room under the car, so you can work on it from there.

My brother has a 4th gen with Stillen kit and H&Rs and my buddy has a lowered C5. What they did was, got a 2X4 and cut a angle on the end of the board. Then, place the board under all the wheels and drive up on the boards. It provides enough clearance to place a floor jack under the car.

Nice pink panties, Sally j/k Start wrenching on your own car and you won't have to worry about your body kit. I can't believe you pay to have Nissan do your oil. I can change my oil without even jacking up the car or removing a wheel. I have H&Rs which sit at the same height as the Eibachs and I have a Stillen lip, and I can still get a floor jack under the nose and I've been able to drive onto alignment ramps. I should be getting the rest of my Stillen kit this week so we'll see if there are any problems with the getting under the sides with a floor jack (I thinking it will be fine).

I'd just do the wood thing if you have to drive on a 4 post or alignment lift.

Any one have problems with a clear floor lift or an asymmetric lift clearing side skirts?

As soon as I get a house with some land on it, I am going to have my contruction friend build me a 3-4 car garage with that under the car walk thing and a lift...hehe...in a dream world that would be nice...

I dont know what I will do when I get my Stillen kit, I am going to keep a close eye on this thread and wait to hear something that will work best for me.

Thanks for reminding me
Im just really careful now. I try not to drive up the ramp style lift. I try to use the stalls that have the arms that slide under your car......

BTW-the shop I had paint the lip repaired it for free

Bro the best thing to do is get a set of ramps for lowered cars at auto barn, pep boys...ect. Keep it in your trunk. Coaust about $25 any gives you clearence to work. For the shops keeping wood in your trunk is the way to go.

haha.. i don't stand a chance on those ramps. A friend of mine bought a set and i couldn't make it 6 inches up the ramp. Worthless.
