UMM.......Mounted on the Trunk? I'm not sure what you mean but how are you gonna see what's on the screen or someone would rip it off the trunk. Don't you mean mounted on your Dashboad?

Ummm yeah, mounted in the trunk. The HU and the Nav unit are two separate units with cables long enough for the Nav unit to be mounted in the trunk.

Like so: Two separate units (I have the 6500 though)

wait till u see the headunit pioneer is releasing March '04...it was in this months Modified magazine....

all i remember is that its a single-din that plays, dvd, mp3, cd, also included is navi & this is the best part...it can also show 3 gauges in either analog or ditigal that you can tap in to see, oil pressure, voltage, etc....

suppose to be highest wanted multi-media unit for the 'tuner' market

p.s. when i get home i'll post the model#....i'm @ work & forgot

Please do! I was planning on a single din anyways, so I could squeeze in 3-gauges below anyways...now I can have 6.

No rush...I'm not buying that soon.

It typically takes a little time before the initial price drops and it ends up on etronics.com. Man I love that place!

--guess i was wrong on the gauges....it only monitors certain things------>
Measurements include simple features such as voltage, compass and clock as well as dynamic features such as:

* Acceleration to measure forward and backward G-Force
* Lateral G-Force to measure maximum cornering force
* Angular velocity to measure turn rate
* Slope to measure the incline

Yeah...that looked like a REALLY nice screen. I'll bet it'll be REALLY $$$ though.

EDIT: I scanned the pic from the magazine, and I apologize for the quality (and the occasional dots on the picture ) Also, it's on a GeoCities account...so I dunno how long the bandwith is gonna last (if anyone else wants to host the pic, IM me).

I know about that new system by Pioneer AVIC-N1. I was looking into that HU thats suppose to be release in March 04. I talk to one of the Pioneer dist. about the pricing, he said it could cost anywhere between $1500 to $1800 I was gonna wait for that HU but only thing that really bothered me was that it's 6.5 screen monitor and I got my AVIC-80dvd for really cheap from one of the org member and I paid real good price on the AVH-P7500dvd(7" monitor). I was so used to 7" monitor so I didn't really like the 6.5". I know it doesn't sounds like that much of a diffrent in size of the monitor "Oh trust me there's big difference in 6.5" and 7"

Yeah, I agree. I had an Alpine CVA-1000 before my current Pyle PLTV7R and that extra .5" makes a WORLD of difference.

Man, now I need to sell my stuff all over again...

I've seen the pioneer 6500 dvd/mp3, etc and it looked soo bad comapred to my eclipse AV8022. I want navi so bad but eclipse is slacking so i may cross over to pioneer if my patients weakens...

That's a given, Mecca.... IMHO, the Eclipse screen is ahead of the curve as far as Pioneer is concerned. But that built-in navi DOES make me wanna do some thangs....

Hmm. Interesting. I know with the AVIC-80Dvd there is a DVD navigation disc that needs to be in the system for you to be able to utilize the navi. I wonder how this system is going to be able to do it. I love the 6.5" screen. I'm sure if I got the 7" screen I might not consider the upgrade. But since I have the 6.5" screen, I might consider it

Thanks for the info. Time to talk to Don
