Sad to say another baby forced us to trade the 2002 Maxima SE in for a Nissan Quest. Very sad indeed.

So anyway it looks like we got ripped on our Security Plus Contract refund and wanted to ask you guys some advice if not warn others.

The original in-service date for the care was 2-15-2002. We bought the Maxima used with 18267 miles on the car on 12-7-2002. We got such a good deal on the car we got a Security Plus exteneded warranty thinking will will have this car forever. 6yr/75K Silver plan zero deductible for $1195. We turned around and sold the car almost exactly a year later on 12-03-2003 for only a $2000 loss which isn't a bad resale.

Originally, we never got a copy of our service contract and had requested it numerous times. When we got our refund back from the cancellation it was only $715. Security plus won't give out the formula but by my calculations the refund should be around $944. After numerous calls to Security plus and local dealer we find out bought a "new car" contract which uses an inservice date of the original 2-15-2002 date. But we when we got a photo copy of our contract it has an inservice date of 12-05-2002 which is when we bought the used car and thought that was when the contract started but it's crossed out with the 2-15-2002 date hand written in it's place which we never agreed to or intialed.

Quick question, dealer and Security plus blame each other and won't budge. I don't know when the change was made to the contract as we were never notified. Is this worth persuing or a waste of time? If it should be pursued what advice do you guys have?
