you should never run aftermarket springs with stock struts. Well it's "ok" to do, but really it's bad for performance and plus you will have to pay the same labor again when you decided to do struts. Save yourself a couple of hundred dollars and just want for the struts.

At any rate, the Eibachs are a bit much for the stock struts.

I personally would not go stock struts with aftermarket lowering springs. The stockers will be gone in 10k miles and you will have to pay twice for suspension installation (once for springs, once for struts).

Motortrend recently tested a Stillen "Eibach" 2001 Maxima. It had Eibach springs on stock shocks/struts. The performance increase was very dramatic...I think it was an increase in slalom speed from 62.0 to 65.2 MPH. It also had 18" wheels with Pirelli PZeros too. They commented on how the ride wasn't harsh (well with stock shocks on Eibachs, it might have even been mushy).

But I would personally get Tokicos if you want direct plugins, or Konis if you want a custom fab job for your suspension (will cost extra $$$ though). If you wait, you might be able to get KYB AGX's for your Maxima. Maybe is the word, dunno if they are really developing it for the Maxima.

i see that you have tokico's. have you noticed that they deteriorate pretty fast? also, some people have commented that the ride was harsher than they had expected.
