pvc valve

what does a pvc valve do?
how often should i change it
and when should i change my pvc vavle?

I have to do this tomorrow when I finish my 60K tune-up. I hope the autozone brand is good enough

Ok, well I put mine in 2day. It was a pain in the ***. I should have removed my FSTB 1st but I didnt. I ended up gettin a Nissan one for $11. I didnt check too see if the old was bad b/c it had crap all over it and i didnt feel like blowin on it. It was weird b/c the parts guy asked me why i wanted it, I said its part of the 60K tune up and he said they never change them, nice.........
