stock exhaust, or would you have to buy a aftermarket exhaust? I know this is for S/C guys, but I was just curious.

Are you talking about the GD with warpspeed? well

I think I am going to wait for the Cattman product, just b/c I want to see the differnece in the Stillen unit and the cattman unit with a 3" pipe. and since he is going all out with Dyno's and all, I feel I should buy it from him since he has the proof and paid for it. Are you going to go with a 3" pipe? or stay stock?

You can make anything work. But you will be bottle necking the exhaust bad, not a good thing. If you upgrade, u should at least do custom exhaust all the way back.

"Bottle Necking", I like that term Russ. but I thought that

the 5th gen exhaust was not that restrictive, I think I may try to bottle neck it 1st, and dyno, then get the aftermarkget exhaust, whenever HKS comes out with it, and then dyno afterwards to see the difference in "Bottle Neck" and non "bottle neck".

Re:

Okay think of it this way. You got a funnel, you fill it up with water what does it do? It fills up because it can't get through the hole fast enough. Now exhaust, same goes. Stock exhaust is 2.25" on the Maxima. You have a 3" Y, 3" Cat, or stock cat, its gonna bottle neck right there.... The idea is to have a smooth flow, but not have a bottle neck either. That is why all hp cars design a exhaist to be equal size from the engine back to provide the most hp.
