I just changed my fuel filter and now my 95 SE idles at 1.5K instead of .5K. It stays like this until my car is warmed up after a few minutes of driving. Did I accidently damage something while trying to get the hoses off of the old fuel filter? Thanks for any help.

I would say it's nothing to worry about. The ECU (computer) needs a little while adjust to the new fuel flow characteristics. As long as your idle drops back to normal after the engine is warmed up, you should be fine.

BTW, when my car is COLD, it idles at around 1100 RPM for while before settling back down to 600 RPM after it's warmed up.

I respectfully disagree. On 4Gen Maximas the Engine Control Module does not monitor fuel flow or fuel pressure. I wish it did, because that would make diagnosis of fuel-related problems easier.
