this is all i know, i talked with the guy for an hour, looked under his hood, he said it was stock, the car didnt even have a tag it was so new, there was no nitrous or anything on the car.

he did say that he had been drag racing all his adult life (LOL) and talked about other cars he had.

this is all i have to go on ??? so dont know, all i could think was, with a great driver the 350z has more, no idea, his run before that was 13.9

im clueless !

edit: has 2200 miles on it

frosty what do you know about it ?

I believe h2kfrost has a 2k1 maxima if I remember correctly.

I dont think the car is tuned accurately to be only doing 13.2secs at 9psi. Its either gotta be running horribly rich or dangerously lean.

I only saw Brian run his Z on slicks.....and I thought the guy ran a 13.6. I kinda did forget about Brian's times though.

Really good race. Nice video too. That is a good time for stock 350. Must be a hell of a driver.

I dont know what vid some of you watched, but I say 9mph is quite a lead. Once again, still no traction til 3rd. The Z is RWD so im not surprized by that time. I still say frosty can slice off another 0.5+ and add 3-4mph IF he had some traction.

I have skinny H rated tires Dixit, that's why I "only" run 13.2's, my car runs neither very rich or very lean, it actually runs slightly on the rich side which is part of the reason why my car has had no major mechanical problems since its turbo install 20,000 miles ago. If you notice in the video I spin ALL of 2nd gear, which doesn't exactly help your times... and unlike 1st, there really is no way to stop wheelspin in 2nd, whereas 1st gear wheel spin comes down to the launch since the turbo doesn't really spool all the way in 1st.

Thanks for all the compliments guys, that's why I love maxima.org, keeps me pumped and ready to go... Also makes me want to be faster, with all the competition. > It feels good to be the 3rd fastest trapping maxima on the org as well... (as far as I know...) I barelyyyyy beat SR20DEN's 110.60, with my 110.64 haha.

One more thing, I did remove my driver side headlight and also removed the intake, so the turbo was sucking in cold air all the time, since it's placed almost directly behind the driver's side headlight. it seemed to help quite a bit, my engine was cold after every run as opposed to usually being hot.

that's a 3.0L??

nice...

I liked my 3.0 (in 4th gen 1998 form) better than my 3.5L

it was a little smoother...

but obviously not as torquey

what did the turbo install set you back?

Nice race with the Maxima and 350z. It's great to be represented with a fast Maxima at the track! We need some recognition.

Well the install was free, and the turbo kit that Hal (hlh0501) provided me with for $4000 plus LOTS of extras was also a steal... I was the first 5th gen to bring my car to him...

Stop mag racing.

They guy ran a 13.78 because he was able to run a 13.78. Mags don't always get the best times out of cars.

Bad-a$$!

Gentlemen,

1) What were the guys saying at the end ?? I'm at work, so I can't (don't) put the sound on...

2) What were the 60' times for Frosty's Max and for the Z?? The Z looks like it got out of the blocks pretty good too!!!

3) Frosty, what's the fastest you've been in your Max?

Agree 100%. They don't have the luxury of practicing, and getting to know the car. I've seen road tests on stick 5th gens that are slower than times I've run, so Mags are often wrong. Good throne reading material though

your so right.they give an estimate out of three runs. their best time could of been a 13.7 and worst 14.3 but they just post an average..
that guy with the z just took off right ,shifted right. damn everything right cause for stock thats a good number. can you imagine the z s/c or turbo'd forget it..

All this run did with the Zcar was make me want one more, than I did before. I wanted to get one myself, but did'nt and kept saying, o well saved my money the chariot is just as fast.

but with a good driver the 350z will hand most modded N/A maximas a yellow slip-butt kicking !

Agreed as well, but MT achieved a 13.77 w/ a track model...

doggy you are right, i waited one hour in the cold and got to race the srt-4 twice. i trashed both runs - 1st run (not in video) i redlighted and missed 3rd gear with a 14.4 , second run that you saw - i lost all traction (listen to the car at launch closely) and have no idea how i beat him by a nose at the end. im still kicking myself.

the srt-4 was the best race of the night though, we were nose to nose, each shift he might edge up some and then i might. preparing for 3-4 shift i took a chance and shifted early and it paid off (it might have been a wrong move i just dont know) but my thinking was i didnt want to run out of steam/pull in 3rd which might hurt..lol ! so shifted into 4th and beat him by a headlight or emblem ! lol still kicking myself
