Courtesy quoted me $440 for the 60k service, not including belts. Are belts supposed to be part of the service? And how much is a good price? Thanx

That's a decent price for the 60k service, since it includes spark plugs (which are expensive). For that price, they should FLUSH the cooling system and transmission, not just drain and refill.

Yes, I would replace the belts at 60k (the serpentine belt), but it is not part of normal maintenance. The belt itself is under $10, but labor, figure half an hour, so total price for changing the belt is around $50. Worth it in my opinion, since you don't want an old belt breaking on you!

Re: 60K service

Well, if you don't mind parting with your money, I guess that's a descent price. I for one have my mind set on certain mods and, my cash does not flow that freely.

Jeff K has a great website with very detailed instructions on how to perform your own maintenace. I've got the TechManual, and Jeff's website is actually easier to fallow. You don't need to be a mechanic, just a bit of planning is involved and the right tools, basic tools.

I've gotten most of the parts needed for the service (they're few) and will perform it this weekend, weather permitting.

Well, that's just my opinion. GoodLuck.

I would just do it from the dealer since it's easier.

Here are the average prices if you get this services done separately at places like Jiffy Lube and stuff.

Oil Change - $25
tune up - $150
Coolant Flush - $60
Trans. Flulsh - $60
Air Filter - $8
Fuel Filter - $50
Belt Replacement $50 bucks?

TOTAL - around $400 bucks.

When you take it to a dealer, they do all this at once and check bunch of other stuff like brakes, steering system, all the hoses and belts and etc... And sometimes you can even get a free loaner car.
So I think it's a good deal, especially if you're busy.
