Ceasars 97 Maxima vs 03 Mustang GT VIDEO 3 Race Battle Royal

I snuck off to the track today and got five runs in. 3 were against a 03 Mustang GT , and 2 were against an older 5.0 Mustang.

also lucky he couldn't drive...

he had a horrible launch and GT's should pull hight 13's....right?

not trying to take anything away from you, but it has like a 260bhp & 300lbft of torque beastly V8 packed under the hood...

was it a 5 speed or an automagic?

for the record, your 4th gen would still destroy my 2003 6 speed vq35...my personal best is a 14.802 (can't drive either---well, I was at 1000 ft elevation)

I respect the hell outta ya Ceasar. Not only does your car look clean as hell, but you're a dedicated racer as well. Nice!

My coworker has an 03 Mustang GT. His best is 14.25 on street tires and 13.8 or so on slicks. Other than the tires, he's totally stock.

Damn Ceasar, how many times a week do you race I can't view the videos until I get home, but it sounds like you were showing the 03 GT some taillights What were his 60 foots like in comparison to yours?

I've run quite a few 99+ GTs at KCIR in the past couple of years and after adding the MEVI/JWT ECU, I'm quite competitive with them (mostly stock ones that is). My trap speeds are right with them (97-99mph) and ETs are within +/- .2 of second. Sometimes I win, sometimes I don't. I ran a 99-00 5 speed GT over the weekend in the 1/8 mile and we didn't give up an inch on each other to 80mph. That's with a full tank of gas, my tools, spare, and crappy 92 octane too.

I know what you're saying though, in the right hands and with the right traction, the Mustang GT is definately the quicker car if it can utilize its torque advantage off the line. The guys that are running high 13s in stock 99+ GTs are getting ultra low 2.0 and high 1.9s.

this old track only give out slips for your run and you cant see the other guys, i have been to the track 3 times in about 2 weeks. But usually twice a month which isnt enough..lol As soon as the warmer weather hits I will slow down and watch and listen to what you guys are doing.

here is another video of the older Mustang 5.0 race. now im not talking big leagues, but for a maxima the car just has some great torque to pull me off the line..lol but around the 1/8 mark im a sitting duck and i hate it. (lol)

in these races im sure the mustang was modded pretty good since he was doing 13's, dont know really. check it out and watch some good old maxima torque put a whooping on the 5.0 off the line.

Another Video very small download

ha! you should have heard the people in the stands..... they were ****ed bout a maxima taking out a "the big bad mustang" ...... snoozin status is great!

However, as the day continued, everytime the Max would get up to race, they'd stand up in their seats and holler or have looks of amazement when Ceasar would whip on the mustangs.... I think they developed a new found respect for not only an import, but a 4 door family sedan at that!

JWT ECU w/7200rpm limiter and the MEVI are calling your name. 13's all-motor shall be yours.

If you build it, they will come.

Good races dude.

If you watch closely, you get a MUCH better reaction time than him every race and then it is pretty much even, but you just kept that little distance. That guy could not drive though, he should of lowered his rear tire pressure and launched that Stang, then he would of given you lots of trouble

Dave is right, how many times do you go to the track? haha if you get some FI you are going to be sick! I think you have a freak.

Also, the damn video cut off in the middle of the 3rd stang race, I didnt get to see the 5.0

13.81 @ 99.X mph here on stock tires (spare and jack removed) with a '00 GT 5 speed...

It's truly the driver that makes the difference. If you rev too high, you spin (on street tires) and get a 14.2-14.3. If you bog, it's even worse most times. 1100-1200 RPM launch is just about right for the GT on street tires...

You definitely got some good runs in there my man! Good racing vids...

Reaction time is key. I usually outreact my opponents by .2-.4 seconds which gives me a huge advantage. The thing is when your racing that .2-.4 head start is really hard to see with your eyes. All I can tell is that I get a 1/2 car lead right off the line and by the 330' the lead has grown to 1 to 1.5 cars (assuming the car I'm racing runs mid to high 14s). I've also credited reaction time as the defining maker/breaker in street racing. This is why mid 14-second cars can beat high 13-second cars quite easily. I've smoked quite a few LS1 F-Bodies in the 1/8 mile only because I outreacted them by a fair margin, but to the people in the stands it's looks like the Maxipad is outrunning the F-Body with the F-Body ekking out the win at the far end.
