I'm talking about my power antenna.
It's stuck in the extended position. I can hear the motor running everytime I turn the radio on or off, so I know that works. Is there some kind of gear within the motor that I have to replace.

I haven't really looked at it yet, just wondering if this has happened to anyone else? And what did you do?

Check if it's bent anywhere. If it's bent one of the segments might not be able to retract into the next one and that could stop it from moving.

Your antennea mast is stuck. You can replace it for about 75 dollars. Or you can go the cheap way and grease it up.

Try to push it back in a little when you hear the motor running, that might get it back on "track"...and grease it.

I became familiar with this after I forgot to turn the radio off at a car wash. My antenna got bent and I took it apart to diagnose and repair. There is a white plastic D shaped rod/gear that is inside the antenna. It sounds to me like this piece has come out of the motor housing assy. or the gear which causes this part to turn may be stripped or worn out. It's not an overly difficult repair and you may be able to handle it. If the mast is stuck open, you'll need to remove the mast first from outside the car and then the motor assy from inside the trunk. Do you have instruction for doing this?
