Just got my Indiglo gauges and the instructions (not very specific I might add), tell you to keep the OEM gauges in place, and to lay the new ones over existing...WHY???

Also, it tells you to remove the retaining screws on top of faces, and re-install when faces are installed, but there are NO pre-drilled holes on the new faces for the screws to go thru...

Please tell me this kit is worth the $90.......

hi Don,
If you DONT want to remove the needles, then put the indiglos OVER the stock gauges. If you are experienced with taking out the needles, by all means do so, that way you can take out the stock gauges. What many, if not all of us who have the indiglos, did was, put the indiglos over the stock gauges and are now having problems with the tach, and speedo needles getting stuck because the needle rubs up against the indiglo. You will need to take out the screws that hold the stock gauges regardless of what you do. The 95-96 indiglos dont have any pre-drilled holes (i dont know how they missed that). just dont drill any holes in the indiglos. you will ruin them. Just put a **** load of double sided tape. I dont know what else to suggest to you. Good luck.

Don--
please address the ?'s to me, Initial K auto will just forward it to me anyway,

reason why the 95-97 have no holes= Simple. the 95/96/97 SE gauges HAVE no holes. SO. why make it non-sellable to the SE guys and just the GXE/GLE crowd, when you don't even need the screws in the first place to mount it in?

FOR install directions, the only one that initial k auto concepts will refer u to is mine and mine only.
http://www.bol.ucla.edu/~cchiu1/how2.html , click on Indiglo Install

disregaurd the crappy generic install instructions in the box.

NO NEED TO REMOVE THE NEEDLES!!!!!!!!

if you have super sensitive bat ears while you drive, you might want to cover the capacitor box with a foam wrapping to insulate the noise...

PLEASE DO NOT DRILL INTO THE GAUGES. that will void any and all warranties on the indiglo gauges.

for further info. just email me. you know my email.
