How much can i sell my car for realistically?
#1
97 gxe with c&c package and the entire car is sound deadened personally by me. 59000 miles excellent condition, professional window tint. Everything else is bone stock. I was thinking about $12,500 but i don't know. By the way, i live in Los Angeles if it helps at all..I'm thinking about a 97 i30T black on black. It very tempting for about $3-4k more than my max. Also, if i trade the car in do i pay tax on only the difference?
#2
That price sounds reasonable, but I've seen 97 GXE's advertised for less. I don't think that the dynamat would only appeal to enthusiasts and not command any type of premium. No ones likes selling thier car at a 'basement bargain' price.
#3
I you trade in your car-you would only pay tax on the difference. Therefore, if the dealer will give you w/in $1,000 or so of what you want for the car, trade it in! It's easier and about the same price...
$12,500 sounds in the ballpark, assuming it is an auto. If 5 speed you may get $500- $1000 less (people in our country can't drive em).

Some people don't like tint though. But usually dealers don't care.
Check out www.Kbb.com You'll get an idea of the trade-in value. But why do you want nearly the same car? You have all that time and money invested in your car.

I don't thinkits possible to convert a beige interior to a black one.
You can do anything with the right amount of cash.. the only problem you have is with the carpet and the dash board, apart from that everything else can be done for under $700 and if you have beige leather you can reduce that about $100 spent with trade and or selling
Plus i want all the extra se goodies such as fogs,
$75
sunroof,
$1000 plus you get one touch, not available on all models
white gauges
get indiglo guages, cheston can help you with that.
, better suspension
unless you like driving an SUV .. everyone changes their full suspension eventually..
leather steering wheel
GXE's also come with leather steering wheel, and you can get that for $50 at a junk yard
liquid engine mounts.
SE's don't have liquid engine mounts
It would cost me more to add all that to my car then to just buy an se. Plus ill get the 5 star alloys.
no it would probably cost you less if you price it out for what dealers are selling SE's for i think its 4 g's mark up on an SE than a GXE

Don't forget that the SE's have a spoiler, and body colored door handles and window trim (which I like very much)
As for the steering wheels, it's not just leather wrapped, cause I think other cars have that, but it's also larger than the normal wheel. When i drive my friends GLE, his steering wheel feels so skinny.

Spoilers go for $100 - $200 off this forum.. personally i have two in my room right now don't ask why...
Body Colored door handles you got me on.. but i have seen 3 SE owners who asked for Chrome colored door handles instead.. i think they match silver rims quite well...
not all SE's have wood trim and if i had black interior i would go with a REAL Aluminum Dash Kit from JT instead.. wood i think goes better with Tan interior

let me see....if i sell my car for $12000 for example..i can go to a dealer and haggle down a 97 se loaded with everything for $14000 + tax. so for $3000 more i get a much much nicer car...It's extremely tempting. Medisonic, to answer your question, on my budget, i would have to get 92 or 93 ls400 which would give me higher insurance, higher maintenance and repair costs and higher probability or repair, besides it will probably have over 110,000 miles on it. I don't know if that would make a lot of sense. I'm just an idiot i didn't buy an se right away. what can i say.
By the way, if i do end up buying an se, the stock suspension and wheels are definately staying.

Why not keep the GXE and save up for a better, newer car in a year or two? Get a 5th gen Maxima.
I made my first car last, so that when I was ready I could get a better car. Now, that I'm done school, working full time and making money I figure in a few years (two or less) I'll be able to get the M3 that I originally wanted. Or maybe buy my bosses S4 next summer?

I am doing something simular to that.. tricking out the max and keeping it as a garage queen, and buying a QX4 as a daily driver... I am also thinking about buying my wife a IS300 5spd Manual next May.. that way i can drive it too..

Oh by the way, you have to consider all the additional money that you're going to put in your new car now over the $3000 just to get it. Seems kind of funny to get a "new" car that is the same year, but it's your money.
Why put money in your car? Make it the ultimate sleeper. I've raced lots of V6 camaros and mustangs, and they were surprised when my grocery getter is passing them. It's more fun to beat a car with a sleeper. So mod the hell out of your GXE and then take on the bigger boys.

I couldn't agree more Bry.. thats why my garage queen will be kitted, and boosted and she will come out on weekends to terrorize the local neighborhoods and highways..

But I would hold out and then get an even better new car, but that's me. Maybe even something with heated leather. How long have you had this car?
#20
7 months and you already want to get rid of it?
I've had my SE for about 10 months and I still love it. Get some performance mods and you'll want to keep it. I don't have leather either, and everything else that I have (except the sunroof) can be done relatively easy.
